Rift Recruit-A-Friend megathread

Hey Guys,

I'm looking at starting rift, but would like to start on a high pop EU shard with an active community, PVE or PVP im pretty easy going on that score.
I'll more than likely be focused on raiding once leveled to max so if you have an active guild I can join all the better

Of course i'll no doubt be bugging you for advice and such so as long as you dont mind that send me a PM :P

Helloes! Come on over and join me @ Icewatch EU as a Defiant! This server isn't too populated nor under-populated. Just perfect! The auction house has decent pricings and you'll usually find everything you need there.

As a start off, I'll give you a mount, plenty of big bags and 5 Platinum (which is the currency used there, more than enough as a starter!)
I'll help you out in dungeons if needed and also help you through the more challenging quests!

If you're still looking for one, check out my post on page 12. I'm currently playing on the most populated EU PvP shard and it has a pretty active community. Also I'm leveling a rogue (lvl15 currently), so maybe we can level together.

I'll be more than happy to help you out with some gear. Have a maxed weaponsmith, and almost outfitter. So as long as it's not plate or chain,I'll make you some groovy gear. Even craft you a nice epic DPS or tanking weapon for ya. Definant on Shatterbone. Amenah is the toon. look me up!

Hey all,

I just wanted to share my link and a little description of my experience with Rift.

I've been an MMO player for a very long time, going all the way back to Ultima Online and EQ. I've typically stuck to one main MMO but always had a subscription to a second on that seemed to rotate around. When I was playing EQ I had a subscription to Asheron's Call, when playing Dark Age of Camelot I had a subscription to Star Wars Galaxies, and so on. I've been a WoW player since beta and since the Burning Crusade expansion I've had subscriptions to a bunch of random MMOs like The Matrix Online, EVE Online, City of Heroes/Villains, Warhammer, LotRO, and more. Back when the Rift beta came out I enjoyed it but at the time it was unable to pull me away from WoW and I never ended up staying past the Rift beta.

Recently a friend and I were getting bored in WoW and were looking into killing some time with different F2P MMOs like DCUO(not bad) or Champions Online(meh) when we saw a sale for Rift for only $9.95 for the new collector's edition. We grabbed the trial and spent the next few days exploring Rift.

All I can so is WOW(not WoW!) this game is impressive. I've been blown away time and time again. The game is just so polished that it's unbelievable. So many things that would require a mod in WoW is handled by Rift expertly. Multiple features for convenience like having so many choices in how to spec, and not just the number of specs you get, but the fun playing around in the trees and trying new things is a breath of fresh air. Youtube integration! Account bound items! UI customization and the ability to Import another characters set up(THANK YOU!), and so many more things that I wish were marketed more because I never heard about most of these features before deciding to play again.

Another amazing thing we've discovered that is probably one of the most important perks of playing Rift is the community is excellent all around. The interaction from the developers is fantastic, the other players are helpful and friendly even to noobs like me, and even though the community is smaller then WoW's it seems so much more alive. I've rolled characters on afew servers and both factions and have not once felt like there were a bunch of 12 year olds looking for opportunities to grief or gank, all aspects of the community has been welcoming and mature.

ANYWAY, I'm very sorry for the giant wall-of-text rant up there, but I really hope this post will help someone give Rift a real shot so they can see how amazing this game is.
