Does apply to most classes to an extent though but if you were to ask my mage friend he'd tell you Blizz does nothing but nerf the mage even when there is a clear buff he'll still point at a single nerf and say "Look, they hate us!".

The nerf was justified. Ask any Paladin who already has a devil of a time fighting Mages because of Spellsteal. TBH though it didnt go far enough. Should of just been a hard dispel with the CD imho.
