    Newb VS. Noob.

im sorry i cant take it anymore i felt this needed to be discussed. alot of people seem to not realize noob and newb are 2 different things. a newb also called a newbie is a new player. these people you can teach to play a game because there quite green and much of the game they do not know. a Noob is someone who isnt new to a game thinks they know what there doing and may or not realize they need help and there failing.

heres another thread to help with this.

    What about "nub"?

    1. nub
who sucks at a particular video game, they are not new to the game, but possess some determent that prevents them from playing well, no matter how long they practice playing the game.

ur answer thanks to urban dictionary.com

    2. nub
definition: a internet acronym, similar to "noob". HOWEVER, whilst a NOOB is someone who is lame/idiotic because he is new, a NUB is someone who has had the opportunity to learn something new, but never did, and is therefore idiotic/stupid.

    3. nub
worse than a n00b. a nub is someone who persistently makes poor decisions. and is in general terms an idiot. only the nub is unaware of their state of nubness, nubs can be easily identified, as nubness is an incurable and obvious affliction.

I've heard Froob and Choob before... still i have no idea what they mean.
Gamers are too obsessed with the death of games. Imagine if all that energy was channeled into the LIFE of games.

Pretty sure at that point it's just people playing with words to cope with boredom. Why else would they be picking on an inexperienced player anyways?

I use either noob or nub, though I hardly ever describe someone who's ACTUALLY bad with those descriptions, they're usually joking. When someone is bad I'll straight up tell them they need to stop being bad or if it's a warrior I'll try and help them

    Newb: a new player

Noob: an annoying person, ot neccisarily(sp?) a bad player

nub: indicates that the speaker is either too illiterate and/or lazy to type two letters.

I get offended when people use "scrub" because it's an awesome show

Ironic though, that Dr. Cox uses the term "newbie" throughout the entire series. So I guess he just used it wrong. He should be calling J.D. a "noob" or "nub".
