Ok, I got home and it booted back up fine (drives were in the right order?). Letting it sit to see if it reboots and dies again.
I'm running HWMonitor on it too... noticing something possibly bad. 3.3v is reporting only 2.6v. Not sure if that could just be the M4A89GTD being retarded though...

I just remembered something useful... a problem with the PSU can cause shutdowns without BSODs. Sounds like you have multiple computers in the house, so you might try swapping the PSU with another for a day or two to test it out. Sometimes they can slowly lose efficiency over time, without totally dying at once. I had a client with a similar problem actually. His PC ran great, but as soon as he had a high load the PC would shut down. It was not heat related. The machine was running right around 50C every time it crashed. I swapped in a new PSU for him and it fired right up without a problem since.
HWinfo reports 3.3. I'll check the BIOS later.
Also, the SB850 southbridge's heatsink feels rather hot to the touch....

I wouldn't be surprised actually. This Silverstone Strider, I've had it since the E8400 came out, and it's been running near 24/7 since then. Moreso now that it's in a server box. I had to replace the fan on it last year because the bearings were shot too.
I don't have any way to test it though, I don't feel like dethreading my HX750 from my main system...

Well in this particular case, I can assure you I am not one of the ones blowing smoke.

Well, the only true way to test if it is bad or not is by swapping it. A power supply tester will tell you if voltages are correct, but it doesn't apply a load to the PSU, so you would never know if droop is what is killing your machine. I think it is a pretty safe bet though, since you said that your PSU has already outlived its factory fan.
No one intends to claim otherwise. It's just difficult to take anyone serious when they specifically go out of their way to claim they're <profession> -- it just seems like petty attempts at fraud.
But at no point does it have to be a lie. It's just one of those things triggering an automatic "Yeah, not buying into that" reaction.
It's something magicians learnt. Ever notice they seem to be really straining themselves? It's simply to make it more believable. No one believes someone who can casually cause bunnies to appear.
Speaking of bunnies, no random restart yet...

Well... It restarted again this morning while I was asleep. Turned the screen on to a message,
"Active partition not found, press any key"
Press a key it says select a different boot device and restart.
Southbridge heatsink was very hot, so I'm sticking a couple extra fans in the case, and moving the orientation of a couple as well. Remembering the layout of the CM690, I'm guessing the intake fan isn't doing a whole hell of a lot...

This is why I hate side mounted hard drive cages with a burning, fiery passion. It's the only thing I hate about the Define R3 as well.
I'll replace the cmos battery if it restarts again, although I really don't think it will do much, as I had the machine powered off with no external plug and it kept the date and time, and all previous settings.
