1H Weapon for Shadow Priests

Chelley's Sterilized Scalpel or Volcanospike for MH? maxdps.com rates the Scalpel really highly, but they don't have Volcanospike on there at all.

Although normal version of hammer if better than Scalpel, i would choose Chelley's Sterilized Scalpel due to the fact that can be upgraded to the second better MH weapon quite easily and HC hammer would out of reach from the most of us.

Oh. My. Goodness. Doh. I recently switched to raiding with my Shadow Priest from my Warlock, and I'm used to using similar gear at times, and seeing that item pop up on their BiS list.

No need for apologies! Asking questions is how you learn. Priests can use Daggers, Maces, and Staves, so that means that you don't have to compete with Mages/Warlocks as much for gear (since you're already competing for everything that is non-spirit cloth or neck/rings/trinkets/offhand), but instead have to compete with healers. It's good from a balance point so we aren't constantly competing with the same people for gear.
