i think the spikes in the graph are due to people running the smp -bigadv client, i don't really expect to reach top 100, but it would be lolawesome
Srsly, who needs real girls when you've got porn?
>_>
afaik, you can run bigadv with a 2500k... you just have to do it through Linux (you can do it with virtualization software I think) and trick it into thinking your CPU has more cores than it does (there's some guide on overclock.net for it) it's one of those things that won't really be effective unless your machine is folding NONSTOP.
...anyways, between my GPU always getting stuck at low clock speeds when I pause folding so I can play a game or two in my free time (which basically means any time I want to game, I have to reboot my machine first)... and my bedroom being hotter because the weather outside is cooling down (long story, just a quirk of my house's A/C system) I've stopped folding for now... might start it up on my gaming rig's CPU only though.
Umm lol at my ppd on my CPU
Would a GTS 250 be ok to use the GPU client? I'm a little scared of it overheating while playing WoW and shit. Currently using the CPU client, my little E8400 has been chugging like a boss for weeks with no signs of stopping.
You download FAH GPU Tracker here. It's not apart of the standard Folding@Home program.
Top15 of MMO-Champ now!
Just need to break into top 10 now!
We are also at 1463 overall.
red panda red panda red panda!
I actually found out that my card is a bit more special than a normal 560Ti (and I got it because it was one of the cheaper ones).

Went to parents for the weekend and left computer folding. Must stay above Cabadam XD

Cabadam go away :'(
5 days until we break into the top 1200 at this rate.
Ok, just started running this on my machine while i'm at uni or sleeping or well just questing on wow.. (running the GPU client only drops me to 40fps)
Wondering what the most efficient way to do this is.
I have the i7 2600k (stock clock for now) and the GTX 560Ti with a very tame (900mhz linked) overclock.
I did manage the other day to run both the CPU client and the GPU client at the same time, but I'm unsure of the results.
I was also wondering how I could lock the CPU client to using all the cores except 1&2 and weather there is a 64-bit client.. seems pointless running a 32-bit client on a 64-bit system.
You can run both clients at the same time. The GPU client doesn't use much CPU power so it shouldn't interfere with it too much. Personally, I had issues with the 64-bit V7 client, and had better luck with the 32-bit one.
