Meta no longer "snapshotting"?

I just happen to notice tonight that after using my MWC and Meta, the mastery from MWC expired after the 20 sec duration as the tooltip states, instead of the metamorphosis "snapshotting" the mastery level for the 36 sec meta duration. Anybody notice this? Perhaps a blizz hotfix?

You don't keep the mastery for the whole duration on Metamorphosis, you just keep the % damage increase that you gained based on your mastery when Meta is cast.

While I still had the effect listed, the mouseover tip said damage done by pets blah blah increased by 50%, then dropped to around 27% after the MWC wore off, but still in Meta. Is that normal?

I wouldn't trust the tooltips. They just update with the current buffs you have. I'm actually doing dummy tests right now and Meta is still snap-shotting like normal.

yes it's normal. your pets update w/ your current mastery. abilities used that are affected by mastery such as meta only take your mastery at the moment of activation into account.
