I want to confirm where I should be connecting the SATA cable...

My assumption is, and I'm pretty sure this is obvious... that I should be connecting this HDD to the black sata outlet(bottom of picture) because it is 3gb/s which matches my HDD.
Is that a correct assumption?

for the CPU 8-pin power connector, my PSU has 2x4 pins and no 1x8 pin. Are 2x4 pins viable?
