As likely as it is that the Night Elves did come from Dark Trolls (fairly certain this is a troll thread), then where are they? Some Dark Trolls would still be around... hell, they were in Warcraft 3? Did the Legion kill them all off? What happened to them? Hell, I remember seeing concept art for Dark Trolls to appear in Cata.

Nice bit of info OP. I've always preferred to look at the Elves lineage that way, but until now, it's never been confirmed. Unless they retcon it so the different types of elves are no longer branches of the same race, then the confirmation that Night Elves came from Dark Trolls also confirms that Blood Elves and High Elves came from Trolls.

Also, I hope they go more into the history of the Tauren. Would love to see more about their origin come to light.

No Blood Elves and High Elves came from night elves. they're still descendants of troll, but they're more closely related to night elves

I doubt Orcs are related to Ogres. It's just Mok'nathal being related to both.

Well, the article is contradicting itself on Ettin. It says they're a missing link, yet clearly the graph shows they are descended from Ogres. How does that make them a missing link? Shouldn't they be between some races to be a missing link?

Anyway, I guess most of this info is just to test us, and anything that doesn't get picked up by the public gets changed. Easy excuse to just tell Brann messed up.

Yeah, they seem to be mistaking 'missing link' as a catch-all term for 'distantly related.'

Edit: on reflection, it does indeed seem that Brann thinks there's a 'missing link' between Ettin and Ogres, not that Ettins are a missing link. Disregard.

Orcs being related to ogres actually makes sense realistically (yeah, I know, haha), considering they can breed to make Mok'Nathal.

I'm wondering why Brann writes out his accent though.
