I don't think my post went off so i'm asking again. Do we have any clue on which race is this ''giant race'' the orcs brought to extinction? If so please tell their name.

As likely as it is that the Night Elves did come from Dark Trolls (fairly certain this is a troll thread), then where are they? Some Dark Trolls would still be around... hell, they were in Warcraft 3? Did the Legion kill them all off? What happened to them? Hell, I remember seeing concept art for Dark Trolls to appear in Cata.
In my defense, i was frequently on the "it's just a rumor" side of the argument. though you should give people more credit. some of us can admit when we're wrong

No Blood Elves and High Elves came from night elves. they're still descendants of troll, but they're more closely related to night elves
Hah, he wasn't Vezax,
http://www.wowpedia.org/Tyr
At one point it was suggested that Tyr may have mutated into General Vezax under the influence of Yogg-Saron.[3] This was later proven false when Blizzard stated that Tyr was not in Ulduar when Yogg-Saron was defeated.[2]

This bit is interesting:
Might have some ramifications for a certain project o' mine. Wonder what the end result of this fix will be...Northrend is still crawling with iron dwarves, giants and vrykul. Thorim and Mimiron are trying to "fix 'em".
edit: Re.: that image - seems like the silithid are indeed animalisitc offshoots of the qiraji. Finally got that straightened out.
Wow nice.. thanks for sharing mate !

Well, the article is contradicting itself on Ettin. It says they're a missing link, yet clearly the graph shows they are descended from Ogres. How does that make them a missing link? Shouldn't they be between some races to be a missing link?
Anyway, I guess most of this info is just to test us, and anything that doesn't get picked up by the public gets changed. Easy excuse to just tell Brann messed up.
But it appears you are right though, I just don't like it.![]()
sooo any other info from this magazine?
Yet another retcon... it was always stated that the Silithid existed before the Aqir, who were created from the Silithid by C'thun.edit: Re.: that image - seems like the silithid are indeed animalisitc offshoots of the qiraji. Finally got that straightened out.
Eh, I could never keep that ogre mutation thing straight after everyone tried to forget there were even one-headed ogres (long story).
Anyway, some of this reminds me of the origin of Draenor and its races blurb I wrote when I was bored quite some time ago:

Guess I'll have to be changing around a lot of stuff. It's really hard keeping up when trying to make your own stuff for flavor.
Orcs being related to ogres actually makes sense realistically (yeah, I know, haha), considering they can breed to make Mok'Nathal.
I'm wondering why Brann writes out his accent though.
