the specs are really nice and the graphics card is a high medium range level AMD Radeon HD 6630M (PowerXpress. This is copy pasted from the review I found:
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft (2005)
low:
160.7 fps Compare
med.:
132 fps Compare
high:
43.4 fps Compare
Did not have a TF 2 but I expect it will run that fine as well on high settings.

the ASUS is a better laptop but it is a refurbished unit. Buyer beware on those rigs.
wait what does refurbished mean exacally....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215119 or this one
The computer you first looked at will suit your needs. This computer you just linked is worse in every single aspect. It's up to you really. I would go with the Samsung if I had the choice between the 3. I don't trust refurbished laptops...
that acer you put in looks alright to for the price point. I'd buy either the Samsung or the Acer if I had the choice. The Acer looks to have better specs but a smaller hard drive.

This Acer is by far the best one of the laptops you've linked so far for gaming use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215119
Only real problem with it is that Acer is in the reputation of being a 'cheap' brand which also shows in shorter warranty than other manufacturers. If you can live with that, the specs look good for the price you can pay.

Never going to log into this garbage forum again as long as calling obvious troll obvious troll is the easiest way to get banned.
Trolling should be.
For WoW that Acer beats the Samsung clearly, probably giving double framerates... For other games those are close to equal and Samsung is more reliable brand. At least on my books.

You can't really go wrong with either the Acer or the Samsung. Both computers will fit your needs for the price you are willing to pay.
i'll just chill out and go for the samsung. I worry too much. Are the grapics intergrated?

ah.... hmmmm and it is cheaper too. I never found acer to be that cheap. This old one I had took 1 too many falls off a bed and it lasted until chickpea bean mix spilt into it and even then it worked for ages as it slowly fell apart

Hey sorry to hi-jacking your thread a bit but I have a similar question and it's always better when the forum is consolidated. I was thinking about getting
newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834152266
but does anyone know if its worth its price and if I could do any better for that price range?
Thanks!

See this is what I do no want to see happening. I bought a few upgrades for my tower and it blew my mind that wow looks the way it does on high settings with ZERO lag. I played from BT BC until the ends of wotlk with 10fps on a laptop and still did 25 mans, it was fucked up. Now I just wnat to make sure I have a laptop where the world is not covered in fog and everything moves like a slideshow. ACER IT IS. unless you guys could help me find more bang for my buck

I am not able to help you find your dream machine although let me point out a few things fo you to consider:
we know that wow is a very processor dependant game, so getting a good CPU is (to me) the most important thing
the new sandy bridge CPU's are the best you can get (especially for the money) so i'd definaetly reccomend one (although to be completly honest i havent checked out their laptop models)
getting a good graphics card is important, blowing alot of money on a graphics card is easy, getting one tht suits your specific criterea is tough, do some digging on this, (FPS at specific resolutions/details)
as a third thing i can only recommend an SSD disc for a laptop. especially because moving your pc around alot is quite tough on a HDD, ofc the SSD is alot expensive, but to me its worth every dime (i installed 2 in RAID in my laptop)
as a final thought i'll leave you yo with this.
Acer makes som really cheap laptops, giving great value for your money. I have personally had 4½ (yes ½) Acers, and they all broke (firrent things but mainly cheap plastic parts and the screen hinges)
i currently own an ASUS G71v and yes i paid about 100dollars more for it than i would have if i had bought an Acer, but so far this laptop has lasted me since autum 2008 (impressive for me).
I have tried alot of notebooks including IBM/Lenovo (expensive like shit but can survive a tatical nuclear strike), Acer (great value, low quality), ASUS (midrange price, so far long lasting), HP (expensive and average lifespan).
of course i can only speak for myself and experience is not something you can share its something you get by yourself, i've just thrown around my thoughts on the subject.
one final thing. my mates all got alienware(2 new 1 used) all are impressive machines, high quality feel, nice lifespan and a gamers wet dream, but it does come with a hefty pricetag.
sorry for bad english and grammar.

[edit]oh and just semi off-topic, check out "Razer Switchblade" its a mini-laptop its not on the market yet but look bad-ass if you ask me. and if you youtube it, dont let its glitchy software and lag scare you. its only a prototype to give the consumers an idea of what it will be like [/edit]

good last post
THIS LAPTOP IS CANADAIN! I was on the american site.... is this refurbish and better than the acer?
In your price range http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834215119 is still probably best bet.
None of the laptops linked here can run the games you want to play at best settings, but this is the least worst of the pile and should do medium/high settings (although not maxed). You need to get to about $1200 price segment before significant improvement so I guess you should try out the Acer and return it if it doesn't do what you wanted.
