Drop blacksmithing for engineering as a tank?

I'm a blacksmith / jewelcrafter but I'm wondering if it's worth it to drop blacksmithing and take up engineering as a tank?

Id say its a matter of personal preference. Eng will net you the one minute armor CD for your gloves, but losing the two sockets means you're losing stam/mastery/dodge/parry, whichever you have in those slots. Personally Id stick with BS/JC

Engineers get the absorb shield on the belt, too. 5 min CD, but could be 5-10% of your health.
    Me: Where are you?
    Them: In front of AH
    Me: Orgrimmar has five AHs
    Them: ??
Me: Sigh. Are you in Valley of Lag?

Nothing beats JC/BS for professions, nothing! You get the the maximum of the stat you want!

No, Blacksmithing sockets won't go out of date, there are already better helms than the Engineering goggles

do not ever get rid of BS for engi as a plate. the extra socket is so OP for extra hp or mastery for warriors when trying to build an unhittable spec
