Get some elementium ores --> prospect them --> turn the useless gems into greens and DE them. Especially carnelians give you a good profit iirc.

Used to be pretty good because the blues disenchanted into Large Brilliant Shards and a single run would net about 3-5 righteous orbs, which were used to make the Crusader enchant. The orbs still drop but seem to do so at a lower rate, but the blues are now lower item level and DE into Large Radiant Shards which are not as valuable. Plus people used to farm it for Pristine Black Diamonds because they would sell for a ton of gold to people grinding Shen'dralar rep for the insane title, but with the rep requirement removed in Cata they are now worthless (If they even still drop).

Running BC instances for Rep grind tokens you can sell on the AH works pretty well.
I.e Underbog for Sanguine Habiscus, or Mechanar for Sunfury Signets/Arcane tomes, as well as DE/Selling greens.

i just lvled my alt past the 60 mark a few days ago, and to get the 2 rods at skill lvl300 it cost me roughly 900g just for the essences/dusts/shards so they're very good value, and the essences jumped to 60g just after i bought em at 40g, so u may want to look into it :P

It's easier and faster to get someone (anyone) into your group before running, so you can use the loot roll boxes to d/e any greens that drop.

I personally mail every green I get to my disenchant slave. The reason I do this is yesterday I turned some random lvl 55 cloth piece into 7 Greater Eternal Essences. 3 from the d/e, 4 from the proc. If you auto de, the most you will get is what you would receive from the initial disenchant. When you are manually sharding 50 or so greens , Bountiful Bags adds up pretty quickly.

Farming Trash in Mana Tombs made me about 1.5-2k in about 4-5 hours.

First AQ20 Run... around 700g plus a Orb of Deception which sold instant for 1500g
Second around 600g
and third just now around 600g also...

Kinda easy cash

Molten Core can also be quite profitable if you get lucky with drops like Blood of the Mountain (they usually sell for 1k a pop on my server).

I do agree with everything that has been said so far in this thread but i really can't understand how you are not able to make profit with only the professions you have. The only reason i could imagine is that you have pretty much no cata enchants/gems to craft because you didn't buy the patterns.

Yes I do have every profession maxed but since weeks i pretty much only use JC/Enchanting and just this week i made over 30k with almost no time invested.
These 2 professions combined are still the biggest moneymaker in the game in my opinion.
Dust is only a byproduct that doesn't give much gold, i agree with that but the scrolls and gems still sell for a lot especially now that almost everybody is able to farm their new FL gear.

just dinged 85 sham, and my friend has frost dk, we got all honor pvp gear and some arena gear, can we 2 man BT?

biggest issue i can see is teron's shadow of death spell? i guess if i get it i can ankh but how long will it take for us to dps him down?

also do i need to be healer? or can i go ele for more dps? also should dk be frost for dps or blood for tank and self heals?

any other issues for us in there, my time there was brief back in the days and 2 year wow break has left me back in a complete noob status.

You'll make about 250-300g per run if you loot every mob. I earned a good portion of my gold supply by running them. Cata dailys are good also.
