    WTF Newegg

SO After all the help I get on these forums, I make my system and order off NewEgg.

They suspend my account and tell me the order is void. I email them to ask what's going on, and they just tell me they can't help me.

I make an account under my mother's name and ask to use her credit card...once again VOID.

What the hell is going on with NewEgg? My credit card is clean and fine, just used it today BEFORE this order and AFTER. Anyone ever had these problems before? Where else can I order from besides these asshats? Does Fry's in Southern California carry the same parts?

TD is way overpriced. I have only heard of issues if you are using a card with a mailing address different than the shipping address, or if your bank for the card has any sort of fraud or large purchase warnings, sometimes that triggers newegg to void your order.

You can use ncix.com or directcanada.com (price are better here)

I just use amazon so I don't pay for taxes and shipping fees. Plus the return policy is pretty decent.

Try, you know, calling them or your CC company.

Return policy is awesome. I returned a Turtle Beach headset I bought from there a year later, ended up getting a full refund.

Sorry guys I was venting. I'm calmer now. My credit card is fine, they are idiots. The fact that when I call them or email/text them on their online system and they can't tell me anything pissed me off more.

I'm looking at TD right now, and Amazon. I might go down to fry's later today also. It will cost more but I'm tired of this online crap.

They aren't idiots. You just have a turd for a credit card. Don't call ppl out if you haven't made any effort to investigate and make 100% sure it's an error on their end, and not with your card. And even if it is on their end, it's 99.9% an error in their system, not with the ppl who work for Newegg. Therefore, they aren't idiots.

Maybe instead of crying and name calling, you should consider picking up an actual telephone(ya know, that thing you've been told multiple times in this thread to use) INSTEAD OF continuing to bang your head against the wall with their automatic systems...and get some answers.

This happens when your card has daily / weekly limits on it, or if your personal information is flagged for previously screwing them over (unlikely). Buying from Tiger Direct or in a retail store isn't going to help you. Call your debit / credit card company and have your limits lifted or raised.

I have never, ever had issues with newegg - there has to be more than just "sorry we can't help you"

Give them a call to see what's up. Newegg has fantastic customer service.

Not only did I call but I also e-mailed and talked to them over the on-line chat. Considering it sounds like you work for them, I'd be happy to give you the name of the person that took care of me, Charles.C.Yanez, Agent Support, Whittier, CA.

Their response was "we deeply apologize for the inconvenience, however, per our verification team Newegg will not be able to service your account". That was all.

I DID check my credit card, and like I said I've already used it (and I just used it again on Amazon who took my order just fine and saved me 100 bucks because no taxes). I have A+credit and I've been a customer of theirs just recently when I bought a keyboard, a power supply and a mouse.

ERRORS do happen, the customer service they provided while not fixing the error on the other hand was inexcuseable. I'm done with them for good. Amazon was cheaper anyways, so this was a blessing.

*edit* this was not just an "opps" we had an error, they also suspended my account. This was all in the matter of an hour after my order.

We actually had this problem when my husband ordered parts for my new computer. Here is the issue.

It is *NOT* Newegg. The problem is your credit card. Depending on how much you are spending and how much you spent in the past is a big deal to your CC. Meaning, my husband and I don't normally use our CCs unless it is an emergency. So when he attempted a $2k + charge on it, the CC immediately blocked the purchase thinking the card was stolen.

Just call your credit card company, then *CALL* newegg and explain the situation. Once you let your CC company know you are the one making the purchase, they will clear the charge. Then, you need to contact newegg and inform them that the charge is cleared. It sucks, but welcome to today where your CC info isn't safe anymore and companies are paranoid.

i have not had any problems with newegg to date . i have purchased items for several years however it sounds like your credit card company needs a call . Also look into setting up a paypal account with your bank account and use paypal to purchase items from newegg.

I can almost guarantee it is with your credit card, not with newegg, and no I don't work for them. Same thing happened with my debit card, automatically gets flagged as stolen if more than $1000 in a day or if it gets used quickly across several states, as I found out while buying gas to get to college.

Newegg CAN'T tell you anything, all they know is that the card was flagged. They legally can't give out any information, you have to call the credit card company and get them to tell you what happened. It's the same if the card gets flagged at a retail store or anywhere else. Either remove the flag through your CC company or split the purchase up into several smaller purchases, best if they are done with some interval between.

My brother had this same problem when he went to buy a computer from newegg, it was the credit card company blocking the big purchase.
So before i bought my computer from newegg i warned my CC company i was making a big purchase and it went through just fine for me.

when i bought my pc, my bank phoned me to verify that i was spending that much money, sounds like your credit card company has refused the payments outright

my payments were "suspended" until i verified, which was all automated over the phone and very quick, one or two of the bits i got from amazon, and it said they couldn't take the money and would try again in a few hours

i'd not blame newegg for this, but contact your credit card company instead of blindly throwing around accusations
