Need new Motherboard + Processor

Hi, so here's the problem. One morning after a drunk night I decided to spray compressed air into my computer to clean out the dust, I was holding the can upside down. Freezing liquid shot out and ever since my computer will not start. It makes no sounds and no fans turn on, the only thing turning on are the LED lights from my case. I am assuming something is wrong with my motherboard / processor as I read somewhere the power supply should make an odd sound if it is a goner.

In any case, this gives me a reason to replace my p.o.s motherboard + Cpu. I do not want anything too fancy. Something in the range of 150-200 combined would be great (will be spending more on RAM later). I basically want something that will get me around 40+ fps in a 25m raid environment (with nearly everything on ultra save for shadows) and decent / playable graphics in a game such as the upcoming Battlefield 3.

If there is a cpu that is cheaper but will still get me what I want from games, I'll take that as well. Obviously I wont spend 10-20 bucks less for 20fps instead of 40fps, Id rather pay the 20 bucks more for far greater performance. Just not looking for something insane like 200+ fps and ultra setting BF3 (if I could get that with around 200 bucks that would be great, but does not seem realistic).

About $200 should be enough for i3-2100 + H67 motherboard, yes... But if your previous components are very old, you probably still have DDR2 RAM which wont be compatible and you have to buy those too as well.

You won't be able to go cheaper without sacrificing large amounts of performance. i3-2100 and a suitable H61/H67 board is your cheapest solution. And as vesseblah said, you may need to upgrade your RAM anyway... what type of RAM do you have now?

Ill most likely be buying the i3-2100 and the H67 motherboard. I currently have a radeon hd 4650 gpu (I know its bad) but it lets me play wow on ultra settings sitting in org / 10m raids at 40+ fps with my current shitty mb + cpu. Any idea if this gpu is better or worse than the integrated in H67's intel 2000?

Also, yeah I will be buying ram as im using ddr2 atm. What would be some compatible ram. Looking for 2x2gb (4gb).

I'd say an i3 2100 and an H61 motherboard will be satisfying. It's pretty low end, with very little room for improvement, but you don't really have the budget to fit in anything amazing.

H61's are mostly for HTPC builds or business computers. They're an extremely slimmed down H67. Two slots for RAM, very few SATA Ports(usually) and most of them come with IDE since most companies are still using IDE hard drives. (I found this kinda neat.)
