You most certainly could, however if you ever wanted to do CPU overclocking or anything, you would need a totally different motherboard and CPU.
Well an i5 2500K + 6870 should actually be plenty for GW2 even at max settings. I probably shouldn't say this without concrete benchmarks, but it's hard to imagine why an MMO would require anything better than a i5 2500K and a solid midrange GPU like 6870.

hehe ! sorry for the late reply =p ! well I have bought a 27 inch screen from samsung with a 2 MS and 120 Hz refresh rate, though it only supports HDMI and Display port but no DVI :c
seems nice etc... and it supports 3D 7 series etc.... some times i get a msg saying my VGA drivers failed and recovered from unexpected crash etc...
Am really sick of the market in dubai like they limit to what they have or even bring from the outside for example i went to dell website and found loads of monitors ! when i switched dell site reigon to my country....lol i onlyfound 2 or 4 retarded monitors....sigh this makes me sad and angry
Just use DisplayPort, it's the biggest and baddest of them all!
And that's a good thing.

For some odd reason I have a feeling GW2 will be like Tera will be like Rift - far more graphically intensive than WoW and still has more physics to it and what-not, thus if you decide to do any major raiding or the like, well guess what? You'll need stronger parts. :P Granted they ARE coded better than WoW, thus they take advantage of better parts more successfully than WoW does, but that doesn't change the fact they are demanding titles - especially when you factor in tons of people around. Rift often would make my computer cry.
So the build i wanted to go with is Marest's 650 build but the MoBo and Ram arent in stock. Can someone help with finding another MoBo and compatible RAM that will work together for around the same price?
MoBo: MSI H67MA-E35 (B3) – $89.99
CPU: Intel i5 2300 – $179.99
RAM: Crucial 1600MHz 2x4GB – $36.99
GPU: XFX Radeon 6870 – $159.99
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB – $79.99
PSU: XFX ProSeries 450W – $58.99 Review
Case: NZXT M59 – $49.99

RAM doesn't really matter so long as its DDR3.

Total: $1,757.91 ($1,914.22 after taxes+shipping)
How's that look? GPU wouldn't quite be that one, only available one on Newegg and would rather list something not out of stock. I read 670s are so close to 680 there's no real reason to go for a 680. Also, 2700k is a mere $10 more so that's a moot point. I remember watching a TTL video where the new generation was hitting some odd temp behaviors.
Unless you need to do lots (as in quite a bit more than 4 hours per day) of rendering or hard sums (i.e. you are waiting around for the computer to finish while you can't do anything else), get an i5. Almost exactly the same performance in games for 100 bucks less. If you must get an i7, get the 2600K. The only thing that is different between the 2600K and the 2700K is that the CPU is shipped with a 100MHz higher clock. The odd temperatures on IB is only when you are overclocking past 1.35V vCore, which you wouldn't need to do anyway.
(It's better to make a seperate thread when asking for build critique, this thread is specifically to keep the sample builds on page 1 in check)
Looks good as gold! Compared to IB stuff i7 2700K is still a beast of a CPU if you're into tasks that require hyperthreading. Can't figure why you'd go for a 256gb SSD though...I would instead Raid0 two 128gb M4's for some hillarious levels of throughput.

Could my friend have found a competitor for Marest's $250-300 build? It comes with 7 Home Prem bloody PREINSTALLED. O_O
The E-series is I think, an APU? Yes?
Looks like an E2-2300 Llano so yup it's an APU.

No idea, can't find a bench on anything in that thing.

So, when are this builds going to be updated with Ivy Bridge CPUs (if ever) and Z77 Mobos? I think its safe to safe ASRock, Asus and Gigabyte offerings are good enough. But then you already know that
CM 690 II Advanced (USB 3.0) // Corsair AX650 // Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB // Kingston HyperX 120GB
Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H WB // Intel 3570K // [HEATSINK?] // Corsair Vengeance LP 4x4GB // Sapphire Radeon 7950 3GB OC
Dell U2312HM // Logitech Z313 // Logitech C525 // Steelseries Sensei // Steelseries Shift
Two of the top-level builds have IB chips/motherboards.
The gaming-grade builds most likely will not see any change because IB has brought nothing to gaming over SB. The additional cost isn't justified.
What WOULD be justified is replacing the HD7950/HD7970 with a GTX670 in the Gaming 1050 and/or 1200 builds. Priced at $399, GTX670 is currently an absolute monster and we should take advantage of that while it lasts
Time to bring nVidia back into the builds Marest!
