Also, the cool thing about DotA is that stupid concepts like hero roles don't exist. Anyone can be a support or a carry, it's all in the build.

I quite like the concept of hero roles in LoL, it allows them to create characters that specialise more in certain areas, with bigger weaknesses in others, and still have a balanced game. Its why champions like Graves and Vayne are always broken at release, because they try to cross two roles! (AD Carry/Bruiser in the case of Graves and AD carry/Assassin in Vaynes case.)

28-6 SF hard carried a "pro-gamer"/streamer and his friends. Least I got supposedly good allies this time, even if they had a bad game.

Anyway, roles is a horrible concept, because it means there is one way to play a hero and there will always only be one way. You can go AD Soraka if you want, sure, but prepare to feed hard against any decent player. That's why every pub picks AD or AP carry in LoL, because they can't possibly have fun as tank or support. I'm all for a good stomping with Shen but let's face it, at the end of the day being ward bitch or ultimate fodder isn't exactly that entertaining.

Some people like it, more power to them. I prefer to make people rage by being godly with unorthodox builds.

Well tbh in either low ELO or non ranked games you dont need a ward bitch, you dont even have to play a "standard" support. I watched a Jarvan+Leona bottom lane totally wreck TSM at qualifiers for the Kiev tourney, they stomped so hard over AD carry+support it wasnt even funny.

Tank can be fun, especially jungle tank, I love being Rammus with Flash, the feeling as you grab someone without a QSS from nowhere, you can almost see the horror on their face as they know theyre about to get ripped apart. Also as a tank you can probably 1v1 nearly anyone (Vayne fuck off) with ease late game.

And if you want fun with ungodly builds Im pretty certain normal play you can do whatever you want and still win. Ive had friends play AD Le Blanc and go 27-5 and so forth. Plus their are characters that are very hybrid, WW for example is great fun due to that, wanna go AD and melee people to hell? Then do it. Wanna go AP and get insane damage+heals off Q? Do it. Wanna go tank and walk around god mode? Do it.

I think though a lot of LoLs success has come down to (obviously its free!) but the fact theyve managed to create actually a very balanced game, with a huge amount of characters that all manage to have quite unique abilities. Last time I watched a tournament over 40 characters were used, hell WoW cant even get half the classes into a tournament, and its only got 10!

Yeah but LoL still doesn't have half the focus on items that DotA has. There's just nothing in LoL quite as satisfying as lothar's ES or scepter Tiny. LoL's success, in my opinion, is decent marketing for a game that is very simple to pick up and learn.

Also, I thought Leona + fighter bot was like a new fad or something. I don't keep up much but I've heard of Leona bot lanes before.
