    My computer randomly turned on at 3am?

    I put it into hibernation mode about 2 hours ago, and it randomly turned on again at exactly 3am my time. Never done this before as far as I know. Any ideas what could cause it, or how I can stop it? I don't have automatic updates turned on or anything. I've had it about 2 months.

    Always happens to me . Usually i put it on standby.

    A scheduled event/task is causing the machine to wake up.

    Go to Power Options, open the configuration for the current plan, Sleep -> Allow Wake Timers, and set to Disable.

    3am is the default time that a computer will download/install Microsoft updates, so I'd check the settings for that

    Had the same problem with my laptop recently, somehow it turned back on automatic 3 AM Windows Update.

    Computer is waking up to wake you up so that you will play it. 3 AM gaming booty call if you will.

    Really though it is just Windows update set for an automatic update at 3AM.
