Opening .lua files

How can I open a .lau file? What is it that I require to do such things? I've got a Windows XP Operating system if that makes a difference.

You should be able to open it with notepad

It contains plain text so notepad can handle it. If you wanna get more fancy you can use notepad2mod or notepad++ e.g. many options.

If by any chance it looks weird it may be encoding issues, like if an addon has chinese support the file is UTF-8 and notepad may show the signs as "?????" instead. Anyway...

In order to change the default, right click on the .lua file and select Open With... Then find Notepad, or your preferred basic text editor, and select it.
