It is normal to see people rage at getting cheesed yes.

You can cheese up to the highest possible level in SC2. Because people are different kinds of good at cheesing.

For instance, I could hold a bronze player's cannon rush blindfolded. I would probably have a way harder time against a grandmaster though.

But in grandmaster cannon rush isn't even really a viable cheese. There you do other things like 3gate with a hidden robo or something.

But as always, if you wanna get better at SC2, cheese is not the way to go. Practice macro games for that.

I think that cannon rushing effective at all levels of play, in GM you just know the best places to put the cannons and pylons. Look at Gaulzi or CombatEX, or Deezer for instance (granted their horrible people but still, they can cheese) :P

Yeah, holy fuck that third game was amazing. Was at the edge of my seat. Sjows splits were incredible and those 4 widow mines spread across the map saved him.

But goddamn, that was holy hell, so intense.

Sad about TLO but it wasn't too unexpected. Pretty sad to get cheesed out of a tournament by your teammate though.

This is where you are wrong. You play to win, and by changing up your build order you keep your opponent in the dark. Knowing what your opponent will do gives you an advantage, by changing you macro builds with the occasional cheese you force him to scout and not play greedy blind.

Teammate yes, cheese yes, acceptable? Yes, form of high lvl play? Yes. Accepted by viewers who want to see macro games? Not so much.

Cheese is legit part of gameplay and valid strategy, most (all) cheeses can be stopped by proper scouting and game knowledge, long macro games aren't only showcases of skill. I'll never forget Boxer flying to high gold expansion on metalopolis while being 0:3 versus idra at MLG, that took some incredible balls and worked beautifully.

Outsider Stardust just won Dreamhack. Great tournament. The presentation couldn't get much better.
