not in games tho, but when i example look at small fonts like at mmo-champion in the right cornor under the welcome menu is tearing abit.. can it be due to old screan or can it be my driver?

Are your drivers up to date?

Not at all, and might never be, using ati cataclyst 10.9 since all the other drivers got problems.. i would use the 11.9 but the opengl bug destroyed it so im still stock at this one

Screen tearing is usually caused by outdated video drivers, overheating video card, or video card about to bite the bucket.

Here's to hoping it's just an outdated video driver

    D-sub connection right? (VGA)
If so, there is nothing you can do, specially if you're using a D-Sub to DVI adaptor. That type of screen tearing appears due to the signal loss when transforming the analogue signal into digital.

I myself, was forced to buy a new screen with HDMI after my old 4 year old Asus LCD screen started tearing when I upgraded my rig.

Could be drivers or simply a result of a digital to analog signal conversion. Does your video card have a DVI output and your screen a DVI input? It would definitely be worth the $5 cable if you have both connectors.
