Rate your PC's WoW performance on a 1-10 scale

And give a brief explanation of your in game performance.

Date bought: Early 2005, (for WoW ironically).

    3.2 GHZ P4 Processor
    2gb DDR2 Ram
    Radeon HD 4650 1gb
(Has been upgraded twice, was originally a 6600GT)
    Windows XP Pro

I used to be able to max WoW back in the day but now I run lower medium settings with 720p resolution. I get 25-50 fps in most of the open world of Cataclysm probably averaging somewhere in the upper 40's. In excessively crowded areas such as major cities during prime time and 25 man raids my FPS can drop as low as 10-15, a little choppy but still quite playable.

Overall I would give my system performance a: 6.5/10

Its an old pc and the game is fully playable, but it doesn't have the power to turn things up anymore and gets choppy with with excessive amounts of players on screen.

Since WoW is no benchmark, I would say for a computer Id give your PC a 3.5 in general. I agree with the 6.5 for WoW that you stated but I have a feeling any "Next Gen" FPS will crash your PC. My comp is a old gaming PC from 2008, it runs WoW on ultra 50-60 FPS everywhere besides Org-Bgs. I also get about 30 FPS in Raids but I am guessing that is from ultra spell details, shadows and just the amount of people there are with all add-on's covering my screen. Your better off then some people though I have friends that buy new Macbook Pros and get 30 FPS in open world on Low-Medium settings. I love my Mac for its easy to use functionality but just playing SC2 is to much for it on low settings sometimes it's a shame they don't have a performance laptop for a price that wont make me have to go hungry for a few months. Well I don't know if this is a response you were looking for but to end this all you should try and upgrade you gaming box, I have a feeling they will be updating graphics in the next X-Pac but who knows.

6.5 for that? You've lived a life sheltered away from modern computers I see :P. I'd give my Pentium D 925 system (dual core 3.0GHz) about a 3.5/10 for WoW, and that thing had a GTX260 in it.

My setup (2500K@4.2-4.6GHz, 8GiB DDR3@1600, HD 6950 2GiB, and Intel 120GB 510 SSD) would probably get about a 9. 10/10 means 60fps everywhere with all settings on Ultra, so I can't claim that.
    Super casual.

WoW has a incredibly low demand and since I got the feeling he wasn't going for looks and more for play-ability I gave him a 6.5/agreed, but as I said I give him 3.5 for the computer in general. His computer can run wow at a medium setting and still get "Ok" FPS which I think is what he was asking his post wasn't really clear on what he wanted to know.

    radeon 5670
    amd athlon x3 3,1ghz
    4 gb ram
idk i'd say 9/10 most options are maxed and i never drop below 30 fps while raiding, usually i'm at 75 fps, that's the most my monitor can give me with v.sycn enabled
if i had to include my shitty 17 inch monitor, then it's 7/10 ^^

20 fps in Orgrimmar at 5 PM. Low graphics, no addons, fullscreen.

    You jelly?

    My Specs:

    AMD Phenom 3.42Gx4 Phenom II 64 B.E.
    4Gb G-Skill DDR2
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5770 1Gb
    20" HP w2007 Monitor

I stay at about 60fps in 25 man during combat w/ my settings at mostly high but ultra on some! No need to run wide open and put more wear on my rig as the graphics in WoW aren't that great anyhow and I'm not missing anything! I'd rate my rig at about 7/10

    CPU Type: Intel® Pentium® D CPU 2.80GHz
    CPU Speed: 2.82 GHz
    System Memory: 3.5 GB
Video Card Model: ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series
    Video Card Memory: 1.04 GB

6/10. Gets the job done, except for when it comes to 25 man raiding.

Core i7 OC'd to 3.3ghz (stock cooling or I'd go higher)
    Radeon 4850 512mb (next upgrade)
    6GB DDR3-1600
    Corsair M4 128gb SSD
    42" primary @ 1920x1080, 24" secondary @ 1920x1200.

I'd give my rig a 9/10 for WoW. It runs everything on ultra smoothly (only time I've had noticeable stuttering was doing the "many whelps" achievement in Onyxia's lair when we popped EVERY egg). The SSD makes things load ridiculously fast (its faster for me to exit wow and restart than it is to log out in a non-resting area). The video card is a little dated but so is WoW so it balances out .

To all those claiming 60 fps on true ultra settings everywhere... Really? I'd like to see a screenshot of 60 fps with all settings maxed out during a burn phase in say Alysrazor 25 man.

CBA to post advanced PC specs so...

    ATI HD Radeon 4870
    4 GB ram
Quad core ~ 2.67 GHz each

I give it a 10/10 . Never had lag issues, and I usualy have lots of stuff opened in the back ground.

Or even in Orgrimmar, during peak hours on my pally alt on Mal'ganis I pull about 30fps flying above the AH with all details maxed.

    10 , 60FPS In Org during peak hours @ Ultra 4X AA/ 16x AF =)

  17. #17
    2.16 Core Duo
    2Gig RAM
    ATI 1600X

4/10. I get 30fps in high populated places and dungeons, but I have v-sync turned on. Res on 1280 by 720.

i went as low at 25 fps on a highly populated server full ultra 1920 x 1080

    2500k
    285gtx
    8gb 1600mhz ram
    antec 1200 case
    650 watt corsair psu
    p8p67 motherboard
    128gb cruical ssd

when upgrading from e8400 to 2500k i got no fps increase so i assume it's the gpu that is the problem i really hope it is as i have no idea why i get so low fps

60 FPS, haven't seen it dip below that for a while.

    GeForce 560Ti, factory overclocked
    i7 950 @ 3.1Ghz
    6GB 1600mhz DDR3

So for WoW, 10/10 at the moment. Replaced my broken 295GTX recently with the new card that gave the same FPS aswell so I've had a "WoW-proof" system for quite a while so to say. No other games so far has been able to bring this to it's knees either
