Do I use heroic strike too much? I've been looking at my skada after some fights and Heroic Strike is usually within 1-2% of Raging Blow. Sometimes even being my third most damaging ability behind melee and execute.

Here's a few WOL of kills from my guild where heroic strike is my third most damaging ability.

Council of Elders 10N
Iron Qon 10N
Twin Consorts 10N

As long as you are restricting your HS usage to preventing rage capping while WS proc is up outside of CS, and it's not preventing you from being able to use all on-GCD abilities inside a CS window, there is no way you can use it too much. If you ever find yourself without enough rage to use either raging blow or a WS on the last GCD of your CS window, you have used one HS too much.

Hi all! My name is thebayne and I am new to the forums here. I am posting because I am unsure if my gear to damage ratio is low or not. I am 502 ilvl. On the dumby I pull 83-97k damage. I believe this is too low for my ilvl.This is on the dumby ill reiterate. A lot of bosses I tend to do atleast 100k sometimes more. If someone could please check out my toon in the armory (The site wont let me post links!) and give advice thatd b great. Or if you just would let me know I am on the right page. Thanks!

I don't know what is wrong with my dps. I went from Titan's grip fury in 5.1 to arms in 5.2 because I saw arms was pulling more dps at my item level. I was happy with what my dps was at, but I purchased a few new items to increase my item level and was hoping to increase my dps in the process. Since I have bought the new items, my dps has decreased by anywhere from 10-30k dps from where I used to be. Before the item change outs, my dps was at a solid 85k (487 ilvl) and with the new pieces I average about 75k (ilvl 495).

Go berserker for storms. (And pretty much any time where you're taking in excess of 12-13k dps)

B. Tsulong (Primarily) - CD Stack. Line up BB with Reck everytime provided you don't have 4pc T14.
Line up Blood Fury w/ BB, Synapse Springs BB, Skull Banner and Reck, etc. We are cooldown stacking spec.

Also said CD stacking also benefits from rage pooling. Look at the mechanics and entities that enter/exit the fight. There are parts where the big add dies that if you had rage pooled up, you could absolutely destroy the little adds in the form of Berzerker Rage + Heroic Leap -> Dragon Roar -> WW Spam.

You're DPS dipped whilst the DK's spiked.

C. Work on your uptime. Fill your GCD's rage permitting.

Provided you are not rage starved going into your CS's you are not being aggresive enough outside of CS.
Additionally rage pool going into CS's at a health level of about 80-90 MINIMUM.

What I would need help on : General overall idea of what I'm doing wrong vs correct! I'm a tank first and foremost but since we roll with a pallie tank as well we are having some fun with the 1 tank strats and as such I was totaly caught off guard for needing to dps.

I have not DPS'ed at all since DS and that wsa as arms so I would need some guidance on what I'm doing wrong vs ok as I'm trying to follo wthe guides but I think I'm off a bit. So far it's just aoe fights for me (council and tortos (focus down on bats # 1 priority for me) thus any help at all would be much apreciated!

The 2 kills / fights I want to improove (Im in 484 Ilevel gear so not looking at shattering dps records...just want to be sure I'm doing what I can with what I have!)

I am ilevel 518 but finding it difficult to get ranked on all fights except Jin'Rokh. My SIM DPS is 147,000.

I tried to post my logs but apparently I can't post any links till I get a minimum number of posts. Can any kind soul please help link some of the relevant fights ? (e.g. Jin Rokh, Iron Qon, Mageara and Twin Consorts ?). The logs are all there under US>Frostmourne>Ultimate

Just looking at the latest Twin Consorts fight:
1. I had much less melee attacks than the other warrior in my guild
2. I am not sure if I am heroic striking too much? (does it reset my melee timer?)
3. Perhaps it was just unlucky but I had much lesser raging blow stacks than him

Your advice is much appreciated.. thank you fellow warriors.

1. You had 17 more glances/misses 28 less melee attacks that hit so you're a bit slower(11 attacks to be accurate) getting to the fireboss then your fellow warrior. Possibly heroic leap taking you a tad too far.
2. No, your problem is CS usage.
3. He has 2.5% more crit then you and used berserker rage 3 times more, might be slightly unlucky.

The problem you have is your CS usage and stacking it with bloodbath and recklessness. Go to buffs cast and click on the # behind recklessness, bloodbath and CS (under debuffs) and you'll see the difference between you and Sabre. 10 min fight should have 10 bloodbaths and about 30 CS's, you have 9 bb and 24 CS while Sabre has 9 bbs and 26 CS but at least Sabre has a CS every time he casts bloodbath.
Besides that your 3rd/4th recklessness aren't stacked with bloodbath. You didn't prepot, your opening burst is pretty terrible, might be more then the missing pot check with your fellow warrior what he uses as opener.

Try to improve your timing, CS every 21 secs and bloodbath every 3rd CS and recklessness every 3rd bloodbath.

Bigbad: thank you for taking time to analyze my log. Is heroic leap now still a DPS boost or DPS loss? Sabre appears to not be heroic leaping. Another thing is that He exceeds his hit cap whilst I exceed my expertise cap (not by choice) he has 2.5% crit more than me but I'm worgen.

I'm not sure why he has a higher melee uptime on the fire boss. I suspect it was due to my heroic leaping which was in my rotation.

Heroic leap is still a 1-2k dps gain but it has to be used properly on bosses with a small hitbox you can't loose any gcds, get turned around or get out of meleerange. The extra hit is useful as fury but not as good as mastery while extra expertise is useless try to replace your T14 legs if you have the opportunity.

@Vennet looking at your Magaera log:
The heads should live about 1 min each so the timing should be pretty easy. Bloodbath+CS at the start of every head, 3x CS per head and reck on 1st-4th-7th. We never kill the frost head but i saw you got icy ground twice that might make it a little harder. If the first head dies too fast just use bloodbath on every 2nd CS.
- Missing a recklessness on the 4th head and on the 7th its not in sync with bloodbath
- 2nd potion is too late and not in sync with recklessness
- 3 times in the fight you're sitting too long on 2 stacks of raging blow without using them.
- you don't have to use berserker rage at the start of the fight since the T15 2set will almost instantly give enrage at the start of the fight with the increase to RPPM procs if it hasn't procced for a while
- your 2nd bloodbath and CS aren't in sync, your 3rd bloodbath is 20 secs too late.
- 7:54 fight should have about 94-95 BT you only have 69 there is a little downtime and moving but it looks a little low would expect it around 80-85. Are you using BT on cooldown?

Is it really worth it to gem hit/crit and exp/crit? Im gemmed 320 crit everywhere. Im WAY over hit and exp cap if i didnt reforge out of all of it. Also, since crit is our biggest dps gain what am I supposed to with this all this haste/mastery gear? It grosses me out that I'm replacing crit/exp/hit gear with haste/mastery gear even though it's higher ilvl. With reforges and the extra str its not so bad and ive been trying to number crunch. cause i know str and crit are 1:~.75 in terms of DPS gain. Example. Boots off windlord hit/haste i think... VS Jasper clawfeet from guardians MSV. Which would you choose? I feel like I'm going to run into a lot of questions like this this tier only because there is so fracking much haste/mastery everywhere.

I would use ASK Mr Robot to check for gear upgrade. Export to simcraft and sim to double check that dps goes up. Then I will use reforgelite addon to handle my reforging

With strength=1 crit=0.6 master=0.43 haste=0.4 or something close to that even the mastery/haste gear ain't too bad, not like fury where crit is valued a lot higher. Use a strength/crit gem in your pants the rest looks good but if your gear changes and you can use a bit more hit/expertise drop a green gem in you shoulders/belt, remove the reforge on your ring to get close to the expertise cap.

That is specifically linked to Jin'rokh. But my main concern in the log is council. My DPS is way lower than anyone else and it is really bothering me. Any and all help is appreciated.

Actually for Fury Crit is valued high but haste/mastery are both worth more to fury than to arms. Fury scales so much better.

Big bad, your log analysis is really good. I did try to put it into practice and did well on a number of bosses this week. I didn't do too well on Jin'rokh though. Could you (or anyone) compare my stats to saber to help explain what I'm doing wrong this fight? I know I'm way above expertise cap and I will get it sorted out soon. Either replace my trinket with fabled feather of jikun or leggings with either tier or leishens if it drops tonight

I'd just use my recklessness+bloodbath at the start with prepot+surge of strength+crit proc, it's over 10k strength. Not sure how you handle ionization but I used the 2nd bloodbath just about when the debuff hit and ran out of the puddle with ~5 secs left on the debuff and let it run out, enough time to use it. Your timing looks better but try to use recklessness and bloodbath together. I'd just use bloodbath at the start and then once every puddle with the 2nd reck at the same time as the last bloodbath for some juicy executes.
Sabre got about 80% crits on BT while you were at 56%, lower amount of crit on execute as well that's rng but you are getting 4 executes inside CS when reck is up right? 30k gap seems quite large for just some RNG and not stacking up cds not sure if something else is going on, can't see fluidity in the logs.
