It feels like I'm under performing on some fights, so I'd like some advice.

uuh, your DPS is fine considering the gear you are in... I looked into your WoL a bit, but I don't really see that much stuff to comment on tbh with you...
I noticed that your DoT uptime on SS was around 80% on some fights, maybe you can squeeze something more out of that?
Are you prepotting and using pots during the encounters? I sometimes don't see your Virmen's Bite uptime in the buff breakdown.
Other than that I cannot really find anything :P

Reposting this, hoping for some feedback. So we've noticed that on the most patchwerk fights (Juggernaut/Malkorak) she does the simdps that wowprogress suggests, but is there anyway to up those numbers? I'm not familiar with hunters so any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm trying to get my hunter (alt until now) ready for a new raiding group and make sure I'm doing my best. I tried comparing Juggernaut log with femdwarf and I'm still off the sim. Only log I have atm so in settings disabled flask/potions I didn't use, set pet to tenacity (only realised after shamans wipe, kill me) and barrage I forgot to swap out after Galakras.
Aside from the setup is there something wrong I'm doing with my basic play?
Also any tips on AoE would be great

I just feel that my DPS is always lower than it should be. I've spoken to other hunters and they say I should be doing higher. I feel that I have good CD usage and do the "rotation" well. I definitely don't feel like I should be outdps'd by our DK, even though I am almost every fight. Are my talent choices right? I feel too focus starved at times with DB, and feel like I have too much at other times. ToTH seems to be the smoothest for me. Even on a target dummy test of about 5min (no buffs, except for crit) I only manage about 200-205k

I have been having trouble with my DPS for a long time now. I was even kicked from my raiding guild when MSV came out for low DPS. This hasn't helped me as it makes me nervous to apply for other raiding guilds. Currently I am raiding with a friend's alt guild group which consists of a few mains and mostly of peoples second alts. I can do well in fights, sometimes topping those meters, however I find I drop in DPS a lot. I am a ilvl 562 BM Hunter and in a Flexi raid I did today I was sometimes loosing/barely beating another BM Hunter with an ilvl of 545, I was doing under 200k DPS in those fights. I cannot understand why my DPS varies so much as I have read guides and gemmed/reforged/enchanted my gear to what is required, along with trying my rotation.I know my character is capable of doing a lot more and I would hate to reroll which people have suggested to me Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I took a look at your most recent single target fights. ( 10/25/13 at time of posting )

Iron Juggernaut
- 49 Kill Commands over 345 seconds. 7.04 seconds between Kill Command on average ( 1 second slow on average )
- 19 Glaive Tosses over 345 seconds. 18.15 seconds between Glaive Toss on average ( 3 seconds slow on average
- 95% SS up time ( Not bad )
- Only 7 uses of Fervor ( 30 second cooldown ) over 345 seconds.
- Your Bestial Wrath was not used during your second potion

Malkorok
- 35 Kill Commands over 233 seconds. 6.6 seconds between Kill Command on Average ( Not awful, not great either. )
- 15 Glaive Tosses over 233 seconds. 15.53 seconds between Glaive Toss ( Pretty good )
- 92.6% Serpent Sting up time ( Aim for 95+% )
- Only 6 Fervors ( 30 second cooldown ) over 233 seconds.
- Bestial Wrath and Virmen's Bite not lined up for second pot.

Thok
- Basically just an exaggerated version of the other two fights.

In summary - Make Kill Command and Glaive Toss easier to see when they are off cooldown. Serpent Sting uptime isn't atrocious, but keep it up as often as you can. I like to hold my second potion, unless there is a required burn phase, for a time that I'll have both Stampede and Bestial Wrath up, especially if there will be a Bloodlust later in the fight. You may want to look into an add-on such as Event Horizon to plan cooldown usage.

I suppose it's personal preference up to a point, but is there a reason you've chosen Fervor for Beast Mastery?

Your Kill Command, Glaive Toss, and Serpent Sting usage are close enough to perfect that it'd be wrong to criticize them.

It looks like you would have been able to do one more Bestial Wrath during the fight, but it also appears that you very rarely stack your cooldowns together. It appears that you used your second Virmen's Bite in a way that it fell off right as you used a Bestial Wrath. It also appears that you used Focus Fire during Bestial Wrath a few times.

Looks like you are in the same Still-Has-A-Soul-Charm boat as I am. Are you delaying Kill Command at all for the higher ticks? Also, are you refreshing Serpent Sting under high agility procs when you will be entering a situation in which you won't have to Cobra Shot for the next several GCDs? ( Bestial wrath / Rapid Fire / Dire Beast / Focus Fire ) ?

Am I blind, or did you not get a Bloodlust during that Juggernaut fight? I have a parse with practically identical gear and kill times, where I was 57k higher, but I'm not sure how relevant that is as I have Stormlash, Crit Banner, and Bloodlust and I'm not sure that you have any of those things.

i feel with the current ilvl and gear i have right now im not pulling me weight i feel like im doing less then what i should be doing on all the fights going off logs and what other hunters are doing its getting me quite depressed, as sad as that sounds i like to take my raiding seriously and me not pulling my weight and not knowing why makes me not want to play anymore. if anyone could take some time and look over it all i would highly appreciate it.

i know for a fact one of my main reasons is my MS since i play from australia on a US server my MS is at a constant 220-250ms and before anyone tells me to go to a oceantic server, i have a orc hunter on frostmourne as well which i stopped playing since we made a new guild on the alliance side us server, on the oceantic server im at 180-190ms still very high not a huge difference.

Keep in mind on hunter DPS analysis - World of Logs is currently not reporting melee white attacks. So attacks from hunters pet / dire beast are not showing up in World of Logs. It hurts BM more than any other hunter spec, especially if they use Blink Strikes. Any logs from the past week, in terms of looking at DPS are basically useless.

you hunter has 1 socket in his ring no gem in it. and he has an ilvl 536 weapon and a 530 trinket. if he has these both new with ilvl 548 or high he will do significant more dps

also u used focus fire while beastial wrath, use it after bw

So, I have a quick question, not really about fixing my DPS.

What general estimate of my DPS do you think I should be doing in 536 ilvl, including legendary cloak and meta, and 4pc from T15? I'm stuck in a bunch of ToT normal gear because I stepped back from raiding in April, but I'm trying to get back into heroic progression and need a benchmark of where I should be in this gear.

I'm topping the DPS in my flex group which has 550+ people in it, but that doesn't really mean anything to me. I'm above 200k most fights.
