On my hunter which isn't even spec/enchanted/gemmed properly I do 34-36k standing still like for reals dude what the hell, im not a bad player, but I USED to pull TOP DPS IN EVERY FIGHT IN FIRELANDS BACK THEN, NOT ANYMORE NOW I AM 3D PLACE IN ALMOST ALL OF OUR 10 MAN FIGHTS AND 3D MOST GEARED THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM!
Tell me how to do 45k single target sustained DPS on stand still fights like Mojodomo and HM utrax

My dps seems *Okay*, as it doesnt cause any wipes, but i just feel like it could be 4-8k higher. I linked the H-Ultra encounter. I believe i had 3 Fading Lights, and soaked 2 Hour of Twilights. I use the T12 4 piece rotation in the begining of the fight, with TW, AA, Herbalism Haste Buff, and a pre-pot. Then again when SF is off CD. Thank ahead of time for any tips/tricks/notes!!

Expectations: Just coming back from a long break, haven't really played spriest at all this expansion and played holy/disc in bot/bwd. Jumping right into Heroic Dragon Soul and my dps is lacking. Trying to see what more I can do to better it, other than just getting more gear which is obviously in the works. 10man raiding without Dark Intent. I will be able to post Heroic Ultra logs later in the week. We are a 4/8 Heroic guild that spent most of the night working on Warlord, and we do the Slime boss retarded (kill every mana void) so we do have mana issues, but morchok should at least be a start.

Top 100.
Please link a more usefull kill in WoL, don't realy have the time to find it myself Prefer Morchok, utra or perhaps even gatekeeper.
Your stat prio is very wrong.
Considering your gear (4set t13) you should aim like this: Int > Hitcap > Haste softcap > Mastery > Crit >more haste
For you that means:
1. Depending on if you get DI or not, you'll want to softcap haste. You don't realy softcap it per say as there is no "Get this value or gtfo" but one usually aim for these "Platues":
2228, if you get DI this will bring you over the cap for getting a seccond VT tic and your Mind flays will sync up good between your mindblast cooldowns.
2141, same as above, if you get DI you'll be over the seccond VT tic but your MFs will not sync up with MB.
2589, if you won't get DI, this is the number to aim for if you want the seccond VT tic.
2679, without DI, this will sync your MFs up with your MB cooldown and you'll be over the seccond VT tic.
2. Get your hitrating close to the cap, every point over the hit cap (17% or 1742 rating) is a totaly wasted point that gives you no dps what so ever. Use wowreforge or something if you have a hard time calculating yourself.
3. Once you're over the "hitsoftcap" you've chosen you'll want to max out your mastery, get as much mastery as you can while maintaining your "haste cap" and your hitcap. From this point Mastery is worth more than Haste, crit and hit.
4. Get 65+ mastery on your gloves as an enchant instead of 50+ haste.
Get either lavawalker or 50+ haste on your boots.
Always get red sockets for red and prismatic sockets, and don't be cheap, get some epic gems for your 410 gear.
Red gems: 40(50)intellect.
Yellow gems: 20/20(25/25) int/haste or 20/20(25/25) int/mastery depending on how you are with the "haste softcap".
Blue gems: 20/20(25/25) int/spirit if the bonus per blue gem is 20int or greater.
5. Your talents are random, check any "How to shadow priest" guide and use that build, same goes for glyphs (Read Kilee's guide here on the forum, a bit unupdated in a few parts but still exelent).
6. Read up on as many "Shadow priest t13 4piece"-guides you can find, learn and make sure you use one suited best for your playstyle.
That's what I can think of atm, have fun finding all the stuff you need.
I have (yet) another haste question. Atm I'm rolling on 3223 haste (3202 haste for imp dp), But I see so many stop at the haste tresholds at 27-2800, (can't remember exact number.) Should I sacrifice some of my haste for more mastery? Didn't have time to read all the other posts, so don't flame me if an exact same question has been up before.
Druid // Muffinfetus - Priest // Agascha - Shaman // Healwithit - Warlock // Intimate - Rogue // Schylla
Ok first thing is first,....I see you are still trying to get your staff,...depending on who you are rolling with you should really try and do 6/7 HM Firelands because if everybody is as geared as you (400 ilvl-ish) the whole instance is a complete faceroll.
Second thing is you want to do more damage on stand still fights but you're secondary stats are focused around haste, and not even the correct amount (next threshold for increased DP damage is at 3202, you're at 2974). You should definitely reforge out of haste and into mastery so that your 4piece hits like a truck, as opposed to the wet noodle it is currently hitting for. I constantly rank on almost every single fight since Firelands so take a look at my toon and a log for HM Domo where I had ranked in the top 20 (at the time):
Armory:
http://us.battle.net/wow/en/characte...rdenn/advanced
HM Domo (since you gave Domo as an example)
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/z...31#Greywardenn
The only fight where being under 3202 haste and getting more mastery is a benefit really is Ultraxion, any fight with movement where you cant cast but 'have' to spam DP it will be better. Except hagara as well because bursting during damage increase will be better.
So if you're at the 3202 don't reforge away, if you cant reach the 3202 then reforge down to 2589.
I still have yet to get an answer to my post from two weeks ago at the top of this page.. =[
Regardless, here are more updated logs from this week:
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-ilzhhmmsf82x9l38/
http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-mzwslju1fxwwbdd3/
I had been playing with my haste and mastery this week also, if it looks a little funky.
Imo you can't compete with other Spriests if they have the legendary and DI and you don't have either. Shadowpriest is so reliant on buffs that having a shadow in a bad comp can really lead to slightly above average DPS. The Staff's procs account for around 6-8% of my damage and DI is around a 2k dps gain (don't remember the exact numbers it is indeed something significant)
Alright, this is very helpful. A few of the people in my group do not believe that lacking these two things can really decrease my dps as much as it does, although I've told them time and time again to just go look at WoL rankings and find me one that has neither DI/a Legendary. So there's nothing I can really do, aside from farm Firelands or get a lock in my group? I'm not sure if I'm not pulling my weight or if our arms warrior is just crazy dps, but I can never beat him on any fight, not even madness. =[ We have the same gear level.
Another thing I've noticed, is I understand that I should reforge into mastery after 2436 haste (as a goblin), but when I was messing around with my reforging, I noticed my sim dps and my raid dps seemed a little higher with 29xx haste on fights that weren't ultraxion. Should I stick with the haste or the mastery?
It depends what haste your comfortable with Imo and that you have at least 30% haste,...I'm lucky enough to have a staff and DI every fight so I rank every week with a mastery build just barely being over the 30% raid buffed hast cap and I never reforge for anything or any fight other than spine lol, but that's me. You should try and have a mastery set for stand still fights like ultraxion, morchok (if you're doing the stand and burn tactic), and spine. It all depends on your play style and what you're good at, would also help if you used addons to help you keep track of everything, if needed I can send you all of my shadowpriest power auras.

Expectations: single target dps (ultraxion in particular)
Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...menon/advanced
Worldoflogs Link: - Don't have any atm. Was with a pug.
Anyway, haven't played shadowpriest as alt for a long time, so not really used too using MS/MB rotation during AA/SF.
On the attempts I was running with 2908 haste, and only 781 mastery.
Found myself most of attempts being between (27-30k dps)
No DI/Legendary.
Rotation : Pretty much keeping dots up, mind blast off-cd. Recast mind-flay after 2nd tick.
Recasting vpt when ~2sec left
Using AA/SF off cd.
Reforged to mastery now after 2589 haste
It's probably been answered but I can't find it, but what is exactly the 4pc rotation?
I'm doing refresh dots, Archangel, Shadowfiend, MSx3, MB, then refresh dots, MSx3, MB.
But I have a feeling it's wrong. Shadow is my off-spec, so I'm not 100% familiar with the 4pc. I kept reading it doesn't change enough to bother doing it, but I'd love to be able to push for more than 36k DPS on Ultraxion HM.
I did look over your logs awhile back but didn't get a chance to reply. Basically it boils down to you are doing most of the things right. Your MB casts had been slightly low so try to focus on casting that every time it is up. The only other thing I would suggest is to maybe spend some time on a test dummy practicing the MB/MS rotation because it looks like you may not be making the most of it. Just basically get your comfort level up to where you don't really have to think about it.
Item Level: 403 equipped
Expectations: I desperately need to increase my DPS. Although I know I haven't tried too hard to DPS extremely well in our raid anymore since January when we were progressing on H Blackhorn (I'm MS heals / OS DPS), my damage is still awful considering my gear is pretty great. We just transitioned from 10man to 25man last week, and I'm fairly consistently towards the bottom of the DPS meters in a 25man raid setting as well (can't blame missing spellpower buff now).
Armory Link: Ellumina @ Kil'jaeden (Here's a chardev link in case I'm logged out in healing spec & gear)
Worldoflogs Link: H Ultraxion 25m from last night.
* Other spriest gets DI. I never get DI (or FM for that matter)
* I don't really have too much of an FPS problem on fights, but a lot of others in our raid do spike to like 2fps at various times and they still out DPS me by quite a lot.
I never directly FEEL like I'm doing anything wrong. I usually try to start out a fight with using my 4 piece. MFs until 5 Evangelism -> SF + AA -> MSx3 -> MB -> continue MS & MB rotation until SF is gone -> VT -> SW:Pain -> DP -> normal rotation
EDIT:
Oh yay! I used simcraft for the first time ever! According to Simcraft, on a fight like Ultraxion, my average DPS should be 41651 (min: 38285, max: 44937)
