The expected ending was EXACTLY what happened - conveniently park her on a shelf until they want to bring her back. MOST people have been predicting that, and thats EXACTLY what happened. Is not "hell". Shes sitting on a shelf. Shes literally an elf on a shelf now.

How many horde leaders is this now, compared to alliance ones.

An interesting perspective, one i hadnt thought of. I guess it depends on where you see Arthas in the equation, and weather you consider King V as a similar situation. Its weird though, they certainly love giving the alliance characters dramatic and heroic send offs, while they let the horde ones off with a slap on the wrist. Interesting.

Alliance's leaders are useless enough already. They usually build stories around loved or hated characters (Thrall, Vol'Jin, Bloodhoof, Sylvanas, etc) If you remove Jaina, which they already used in the last exp, there is nothing meaningful left in the alliance. Pretty sh**ty characters

Something I didn't see mentioned yet, but doesn't this mean Pelagos is a crappy arbiter?
He says he senses the jailors corruption on Sylvanas and goes for a softball until she herself says it was all by her own volition.

Pelagos: I sense sausage on you! You must be the one who robbed the sausage factory! To the maw with you!
Guy: Actually I'm the owner of the sausage factory!
Pelagus: Oh ok, heaven it is then.
Guy sneakily laughing behind Pelagos back while chewing on a stole sausage as he enters heaven.

That fate is actually rad.

Truly powerful redemption story, it's almost required at this point that she won't be forgotten in future. I hope she comes out strong when her jail time expires, of course with all the magical reconciliations and rebirths taking place as well.

So Sylvanas' punishment is to do what the players have had to do for a year, for us it was "fun content" but for Sylvanas it's a punishment, doesn't this just feel like a punch in the guts by blizzard.

Amazing ending to an amazing story, great job blizzard! Keep up the work!

A toddler can write better lore than the guys at Blizzard.

Not really. She may be condemned to "hell", but she isn't being tortured. Being in the Maw isn't bad, by itself. It's the Mawsworn trapping and torturing you non-stop that makes the place bad, and Sylvanas is going to be free down there, to look for souls. It's a penance, not castigation.

Although I do still hope she ends up captured by the Mawsworn and tortured forever. More specifically, just after she saves the last soul required for her absolution, she gets captured and tortured for eternity.

Mawsworn were Mawsworn because they served the Jailer.
Now that he's gone his domination magic should be gone as well.

I'm glad they didn't go the pathetic way out and just have Tyrande forgive her, or the easy way out and have her killed. Especially how she's acting now, being killed wouldn't have been satisfying, and would just have come across as another attempt to make her seem even more sympathetic.

I haven't seen that anyone has the book yet, so...

At least no one can accuse the Blizzard writing team of not being consistent with the quality of the story.

i like this ending.

...but make her walk, no mounts allowed.

Off to the maw with ye. I hope that every mob in the maw knocks off you mount!

It's a better ending than I expected.
