My Snails got reported... sure their names were FireBallz (Fire Snail) and BlueBallz (Blue Snail) but still, people are way to fn sensitive

When I tame a pet, I should not have to name it. People need to start minding their own business and stop creating problems for other people to deal with.

Mass report bans have been a thing for years.

There was a Hungarian guild in my battlegroup/server with tons of members, they used to single out English speakers in trade chat out of spite, and just mass report.

Typical MMO players, making issues out of non-issues, surprise surprise!

It was a hunter so I’m guessing they stumbled upon a bot group or levelling group and took some kills so they took his pets names. I’m genuinely curious about the resolution, whether they got a human to look at it and their response

Yeah lmao. We all know it's bs especially since they downsized the hell out of support rather than y'know improving it.

It really is bizzare how other games have dedicated gms/no automated system and Blizzard are the complete opposite. Blizzard is a multibillion dollar company and the fact they don't have a dedicated GM team for WoW anymore is pathetic.

No report system should be automated, it's ripe for abuse. And has been abused by a sizable chunk of the community.

This gives me big vibes of when someone tried to claim Blizzard banned them for saying GG in Overwatch and then Blizzard devs came in with the recipes and proved the guy was lying and he edited the email.

Not saying it's impossible this really did happen but there is the history of people doing this before.

I'm curious as to how long the ban was. I got dinged for an inappropriate character name once and the suspension was for 3 hours. That was the first time I'd ever been in trouble though

probably because they don't call attention to themselves. my one lasted for a number of years before I got a bit too vocal in a LFR and then boom, reported.

Indeed true. Was muted for a week a while back for chat violations when I was simply standing in front of a mailbox on a mammoth and said "pay me to move."

Replacing GMs with automated reporting and punishments was an absolutely devastating idea, but at least the execs got to keep their bonuses.
