Weren't you complaining in the other thread about how everything needs a carrot to get people to play it?

But you're also mad that there isn't enough of a carrot to get people to play it for fun?

Gotta attach all this collector stuff so the collectors participate to carry the whole mode. It would be DOA otherwise.

I've been hiding and doing the objectives, killing as many npc's as I can. usually that nets me 300 rep per. then there is a daily bonus for your first objective of the day which is 800 rep.

I've done 5 or 6 matches and I am at renown 2, halfway to 3. so probably about 100 matches or so? spread out over the 6 weeks. depends how much rep you get per event too

Apparently it was a bug. After reloading the UI the queues were instant

played a few matches. sure its cool to see that this is possible in the WoW engine. But, just really not feeling it.

I can't wait for Blizzard to come in like "Yo Bro, we heard you like it SO MUCH, we're keeping it permanent AND adding a NEW RENOWN TRACK with NEW REWARDS!"

    Honestly, it's just dreadful

Its alright. I was having more fun just killing NPCs and collecting chests. When PVP did happen more then half of the time they would just run away. The storm would shrink until people had no option but to fight. 6th was the best ive done out of the 7 games i played. I would have enjoyed it more just playing my chosen class with perhaps some powers that did fun things to my abilitys. Overall 4.5/10. Ill keep playing it for the rewards but I dont think ill be able to grind it for more then a few matches a day.

Opposite for me. I just want to get my plunder so I can get the rep done. I've had games where I just get reamed 10 seconds in by some try hard. I actively AVOID people and get chased across the map because I just want to get my fucking rep done, not Pee Vee Pee.

+1 point for WoW innovation. I am somewhat impressed they're able to make this work in WoW engine.

that's about it. This, to me, feels like a chore to get the renown levels to get anything that's even remotely good

Then just do 1 match a day, and wait otherwise for the amount of people to ease off, and possible changes to make it easier, cause as is, 6 weeks gunna be a big grind.

Yep, not all that fun for me either as a non-PvPer. Should have had a PvE equivalent release concurrently. WoW PvP has always been a tacked-on afterthought that has been a drain on PvE fun ("oh we have to nerf this ability 'cuz PvP") ever since.

pretty much.... although with how little rep you get even if you last for a little while... only the most tenacious collectors would still be doing it after a few days of hoping to last long enough to get more then a tiny drop of rep per match, at least IMO... because holy hell is this mode annoying if you are not normally into battle royale, or pvp in general.

unless you get lucky enough to drop in far enough away from other players and managed to last long enough to get some plunder - early death nets you 15 to 30 rep. per match. I did some math for myself, assuming I manage to last into top 20 (which I do manage some of the time) which gives me about 350 rep per match... and assuming 5+ minutes per match (an extra generous assumption on my part) it would take me personaly an absolute minimum best case scenario of 6 hours a week of nothing but playing a mode that I have been actively avoiding for YEARS.... to get enough rep to unlock the rewards. but given that half the time I die close to arrival? its going to be near impossible.

for most people its going to be near impossible. rep at early deaths is way WAY too low and even if they buff it few weeks down the road.. I don't see them buffing it nearly enough to afford to wait for buffs and still hope to get all the rewards, or even most of the rewards...

people easing off is just going to make the wait for a match to form longer, making it even harder for people who inevitably die at the start of the game (someone has to) to get anywhere.

Man I hate it so much. I've done a few games right now and the balance between PvP and PvE is just beyond shitty. Half the time you'll miss your basic strikes (which are, let's be honest doing no damage at all) because the guy in front of you will randomly teleport everywhere thank to how WoW deals with lag.

And damn the renown track seems to be long. Going to be one hell of a boring grind for me.
