Easyly explained.

When you use Blood Presence, your Death Strikes heals for 15% of incoming damage for last 5s or 7% of max health. With a little more armor and life from Blood presence.
In Unholy presence, you get faster Rune Regen, faster GCD, run speed, and, using the Glyph of Dark Succor, DS that heal for 15% max health or more, wich is a MAJOR boost to survivability AND dps all around.

Specially on content where you won't have often 15% of the incoming damage for 5s > 15% max health because it would mean taking your whole life pool in damage over 5s to get the same amount of heal, and since the Blood Shield amount depends on the amount healed, that glyph makes it insanely big.

It's the same reason that makes Blood DK quite painful in pvp when you don't have peeps to cc/burn them fast, they can heal a lot in a small timeframe.
(btw the nerf is mostly there for pvp and bg in particular, not old content, but it will affect it too).

At the moment, someone running non-trivial old content in Blood Spec/Blood Presence and without the Dark Succor glyph is doing it dead wrong honestly, it's too good to pass (hell, nearly twice as much hps from DS, and the faster rune and gcd regen on top of it, meaning more DS and damage/shield ).

at first i thought when i seen the solo boss it was the other dk who solo'ed other raod bosses but HEY! its a new guy this time big props to him

Hat off to this guy thats some feat to solo that encounter!

Not really a "new guy" if i'm right, he/she has already posted quite some soling vids during WotLK (not sure but i think).

Ok, som epeople will say that he is in some amazing gear but i still say DKs are OP, to many videos of Dks soloing raid bosses from lv 80. he is a good play i have no doubt, his sinestra kill proves it.

If Dk's get nerfed due to this then i dont think they can argue tbh. but either way, big GZ to him.

I'll be honest... Solo-kills by Death Knights are usually on the "meh" scale. My DK Tank has been my main since Wrath released and it severely tainted the impressive nature of true solo-kills (a la Hunters solo'ing Heroic 5-mans during TBC)...


That being said, when I saw this video last week I decided to try it using a Raid Lockout from an achievement run with friends. I'm 359-372 geared in every slot and after 2 and a half hours of getting my ass handed to me, I gave up.

Major props to this guy. This was no easy feat. Gear played a very small role - it comes down to RNG, RNG and more RNG. The dedication is admirable. Congrats on the kill!

Would you feel your Class getting nerfed for 85 content due to it's capabilities in legacy raids would be justified?

Hunters have killed pretty much as many bosses from old raids as DK (some before dk managed to do it, and in far lesser gear), and nobody complains about it.
Same with Prot Paladins too, and no one complains either.

Once again, like in Wrath, old content soloing won't get DK nerfed, nor will Bliz stop balancing classes at 85, making some classes/specs broken till 75+, so stop bringing it up.

If it's so easy go do it.... Most people can't even do that with 4 people (including tank/healer) so it's a HUGE feat.

Oh look more crap, blizzard need to get their priorities straight.... they need to try fix the terrible state of PvP.. I'm no designer but complete loss of control of your character from 100% - 0% Hp is bad design... I have 2.5k resilience which should be more then enough to survive a burst of damage from 2 dps classes but no... Complete loss of control of my character from 100% - 0% while they CC my healer.... It's completely unacceptable.... But no blizzard would prefer to spend time updating old content with maps that tbh shouldn't even be needed in BC content... BC was the beginning of the 'only one way back' instance generation, people who get lost in any instance deserve to be removed from the group..

This DK soloing Yogg is a perfect example of how unbalanced pvp is atm... Reason being although there are no stun mechanics in Yogg I really don't think an 85 player could output as much damage as yogg to a DK in full vicious... even with stuns I really doubt a DK could be nuked if they had a healer and/or were blood. So imagine how little damage I would do in a heals dps 2v2 combo against a blood DK and a healer.... Yeh good luck...

Blizzard need to stop remaking shit that doesn't need to be remade and do something useful.

Nah I got my own dk, I'll be going to try and solo yogg myself. Probably utterly fail. I wonder if he/she soloed most of ulduar as well? I'd like to see videos of those encounters as well if he/she did so

the daily blink is hardly true or funny considering mage dps is great while mobile, and our interupt is off GCD, do they play wow? Not a fan of the dk soloing yogg either, its an old normal mode tuned for lvl 80s with 226 ilvl, really not an impressive kill sorry. He knows how to play don't get me wrong, but there are tons (a lot) of players capable of soloing old content, they just don't do it because well.....its old content.

Definitely the most negative post I have ever posted.

As a mage, this Daily Blink has made me realize how much I am saying that to myself.
