Stop been such a bunch of whiners. There wont be a new playable race this soon after cata. Most likely if anything we will get a panda hero class but maybe not even that.

Personally i can see this been really cool, lots of cool zones based upon chinese geography

It is not about the race Pandaren, it is about the CONTINENT PANDARIA. Totally different thing. Pandaren will be there sure, just like the Tol'Vir are in Uldum and the Broken are in Outland. But the expansion is about the continent that happens to be named PANDARIA but that will have a varied ancient culture, troll, night elf, nagas, kvaldir, and all sorts of other things, just like Northrend had all sorts of things, not just ice and undead.

Kudos to Dblbaconator - that was one of the most incisive, thoughtful and interesting posts I've ever seen on here. Boubouille really should give credit to Mynsc though for posting about this on here first, it's pretty low to not give him a mention (especially as I'm sure it directed a lot of traffic here on posting - I know I went straight to it as soon as the news of Mynsc's thread started being discussed on Trade Chat). All in all a very exciting new development, I really hope it is a new expansion and the Pandaren are a neutral playable class/race-in-themselves that can choose whether to be Alliance or Horde (and preferably start at level 65, so that we'd only have to level them through WotLK and Cataclysm content, after doing the first 3-5 levels on their home island). So sort of like Death Knights, but furry and Pandaren.

Whatever they choose a huge portion of people that come to MMO champion will instantly take against it - like literally people here will moan about anything! All the people who hated WOTLK and pissed and moaned about it for the entire time have now done a 360 and now shamelessly praise it as the best thing since sliced bread, and moan about how bad cata is. So yeah, I'm going to put forward that I'm pretty interested to see it, and that it will probably be a decent expansion or whatever it is, and keep me entertained like the others have. I can't see it being a playable race, but a new hero class would be fun to see. If the pandaren are living in some fairly remote place it follows there would not be reams of lore on them in my head. I'm no lore buff but it makes sense to me, and it gives blizz a cleanish slate to develop some new plot lines.

I don't believe one bit in the "2nd quarter 2012 release". Remember that that would mean public beta would have to start right after Blizzcon in order to get the required 6 months of beta testing. Which means there is already a playable alpha up and running RIGHT NOW around the Interwebs. If it was, you can rest assured we would have heard rumours long before the trademark registration, which again would have been reatrded by Blizzard.

Everything indicates this expansion will follow the exact same schedule as all the previous expansion. Trademark registration summer before Blizzcon, announcement at Blizzcon, public beta starting june/july 2012, release November/December 2012.

Next expansion Mists of Pandariaincludes an all-new Pandaren Hero Class. Healer or Buffer/Supporter (chanter-type): Casts 10-30 sec duration buffs of different types on different players (runspeed, haste, crit, maybe). FE 10 Sek CoolDown Spell that makes the next ability of one player a 100% Crit. Or 30 Sek Cooldown Spell that raises haste of all players within 5 yards of the caster by 10% for 10 seks. + Some kind of buffs that you can and have to keep up all time. Pandaren Hero Class is able to choose if they want to join the Alliance or the Horde in the CharCreationScreen or after quitting the Pandaren Homeland. You read it here first, remember it!

The reality is that Cata is different from previous expansions, with only 5 levels. And during the past 7 months, we already experienced 4.0, 4.1, 4.2.

There will be 9-12 months left if the X4 released in 2nd quarter 2012. That is more than enough for 4.4, 4.5 etc according to blizzard's current philosophy of patches: smaller patches with faster releases. What else do you expect? 4.6, 4.7, 4.8 that will last more than 1 year and half? very unlikely for a 5 lvl expansion like Cata.

As for them being in lore, yes they were part of horde lore for sure.Chen assisted Rexxar and Thrall in Orgrimmar's early years back in WCIII.

You wanna talk about panda's being to childish? How many of you are open to your friends about why you couldn't hang out Tuesday night?How many of you are teens and adults who spend a considerable amount of time playing a game revolving around swords and magic? I don't know about you, but that would sound pretty childish and nerdy from and outsiders PoV.

WoW has always had a comical and original feel to it regardless of how serious you take the game. Look at the companions, mounts (Big Love Rocket?!?! ), and basically any other misc. item in game. WoW has led the MMORPG world by balancing serious hardcore player content and original ideas in the form of sometimes childish, silly, and nearly pointless items, spells, and quests.

How can you willingly pay monthly for a game that contains things like Mojo the frog, Super Simian Sphere, A variety of races that we only heard of in FAIRY TALES, and then complain and threaten to quit the game when they choose to possibly add the race/expansion/zone that players have vocally stated they wanted for years because you think pandas are too childish?

Stop moaning. This will be awesome. Forget the pandas and think of all the cool Chinese inspired geography that we will get. Look up yellow mountains for a taste of whats probably coming
