Blue Posts - Class Feedback
Patch 4.3 is coming to PTRs "soon" and Blizzard is looking to gather feedback on all the classes! Not necessarily for Patch 4.3 but mostly for long term changes, most likely the expansion.

Here is the kind of feedback that is NOT helpful in this particular thread:

  • Concerns that your current damage, healing or tanking is not competitive. While this kind of feedback is often useful, it also is the kind of thing that can change from patch to patch, and so it isn’t as useful for long term vision changes.

  • Concerns that your feedback is being ignored or that we don’t take these kind of posts seriously, or otherwise posting anything that is off-topic or not in the spirit of this thread’s intent.

  • Requests for responses to your suggestions or feedback. The purpose of this thread is to get information to us, not the reverse.

We hope you take these threads seriously, as we’re going to be reading them very carefully. We ask that you take time to think and formulate a useful and objective reply, as this feedback could be used to alter your class in substantial ways.

We won’t be replying here addressing your concerns. This is purely for us to read your answers to the below questions.

Please copy the below questions into your reply and answer each one.

  • What type of content do you focus on? [PvE/PvP/Both]
  • If PvE, what type of PvE? [Heroics/Raids/Other]
  • If PvP, what type of PvP? [Arenas, BGs, Rated BGs]
  • What are your biggest quality-of-life issues? For instance, no longer requiring ammo could be considered a quality-of-life improvement for hunters.
  • What makes playing your class more fun?
  • What makes playing your class less fun?
  • How do you feel about your “rotation”? (Rotation is the accepted order in which abilities are used to maximum efficiency.)
  • What’s on your wish list for your class?
  • What spells do you use the least?

No, blizzard brought it own themselves. The consistent request for advice over the years from it's gamers in PTR's, beta's and class forums and the subsequent "Non-use" of that advice and I'm not saying all the advice was good either. However, there have been a great many threads that have had excellent ideas to blizzards problems when it comes to what gamers would like to see. It is blizzard job at that point to weed through the good and the bad and as a gamer we hope they do something about the problem at hand. It was rarely ever fixed.

Beta problems never looked at, posters were then told they were the problem and being to negative. Others know this to be true of the Beta and PTR posts.

If blizzard wants players to analyze their game they cannot in turn (as you say) also tell gamers to not over-analyze the same game. That would be a stupid request.

Blizzard has created jaded gamers and thats why they have currently lost more subs than pretty much any other MMO has ever had. Cause players are unhappy and jaded.

You are right on one aspect. WOW is currently not for me but that is not what this thread is about. It's about the class feedback to which I think will be a complete waste of time.

As I have said earlier. Blizzard has pounded it's players over the years and said, They do not design the game around what players want. Asking for advice now is just a waste of time and players efforts through blizzard own admission from the statement above.

There not going to design the game around what players want anyway. So, there is no point in posting.

Except they did this back in Wrath when subscriptions were at an all-time high.

So your argument doesn't really stick.

If only I could still post on the WoW forums. Would be an epic thrashing.

Whether they listen to my feedback or not, I'm glad they're giving us this opportunity. Hopefully this will take this game from good to even better.

Blizzard does not ask players what they think, so players think Blizzard does not listen. Players whine.

Also, this is why we can't have nice things.

Reading through 5-6 pages of the Death Knight feedback, I already see several prevailing themes in many of the posts. I'd say this open forum style criticism/wishlisting will easily pinpoint the communities biggest gripes for most classes.Too bad that 1 in every 6 posts is super short, generic, or just a DPS wishlist that isn't what they're looking for.

WoW is still an amazing game for leveling up toons, but they have completely and utterly ruined PVP. Their lack of 1v1 balance has been a joke from the start. They could have implemented pvp wrappers to fix a lot of the issues, but they kept whining about it instead of fixing it. This game is dead to the world at 85, they won't be able to generate content fast enough, and people will get bored and move on. It's over. Blizzcon is just more smoke and mirrors as someone said earlier, and I laughed when I saw the "free pet" they are trying to use as a carrot to get more people to give them $40. I'm ready for a new game. I had a lot of fun in wow over the years, but it needed to just die at the end of WOTLK. Now it's demise is long overdue. Bringing on unqualified people like ghostcrawler to manage probably one of the most important aspects of the game was probably some beureaucratic nonsense, because let's face it, he isn't qualified to do his job. Past MMOs knew when to call it.. WoW just can't kill the greed machine.

For how long has it been suggested to alter coefficients for abilities in PvP and PvE? Years, perhaps. This would have given the developers an ability to balance PvE and PvP separately, without one affecting the other like it is now. But no, they say it would be too complex.

They have the means to do it - look at how CC has different durations in PvP and PvE, Colossus Smash is different, and some other abilities. THey just chose to not do it.

Blizzard will do what they always do when somebody posts something about a change or possible idea....lock the thread and close it down. Even if one stupid person posts a troll comment they instantly shut the thread down. I wonder how long until they shut these down cause they are tired of seeing "this fails or that sucks". They only want to hear good or positive feedback. Blizzard in my opinion (and for the most part, not always) does not take constructive criticism well. They think the game is flawless and anybody who complains is a troll, when it couldnt be farther from the truth.

Mostly this. While I think the next expansion will determine a lot. I mean every company makes mistakes and Cata could have been Blizzards. I think the game was great and very enjoyable (and mostly still is) but Cata brought forth too many downfalls and wrong ideas. They have a chance to turn it around with the next patch and the next Exp Pack but if they dont they are probably dunzo. That and how much of a hit they will take from SWTOR.

If you think "this fails and that sucks" is constructive criticism, there's not much more that needs to be said.

Yes they did and they threw away most of the feedback; I have no doubt it was read and sent around, but instead of acting on that stuff, Blizzard chose to do nothing and just have GC make extensive posts that most of the feedback was fun, but unrealistic and impossible to implement quickly and cheaply.

Hence why it was deemed a PR stunt by many: make a big deal out of asking players their class feedback, let it simmer for a few weeks, take a month off for "analysis" and then come back with close to nothing but some air, some dust and some vague promises that won't cost you anything to forget.

I'd say instead of deleting said thread and/or locking it. Blizzard should use some of that "Getting through the static" they consistently talk about and pull out of said post what they need in the first place.

You get 200 posts that say "shamans SUCK at "______!"

I'd suggest reading the part that says what shaman suck at and not so much reading of grammar or how it was posted. If they wanted to find the meat of a complaint they could but most times they choose not to. There is constructive criticism in the statement above, sadly blizzard chooses to ignore it in most cases.

I strongly like this and i hope that Blizzard will listen to the players. Sadly i couldnt read more about these "druids" biggest concerns. Moonkin form- weapons? Lol, what about survival?Though i like the suggestions that you can hide moonkin form and such, which would help us alot in PvP.

It gave me a chance to rant about mirror image randomly attacking non engaged mobs and fire orb being practically having a mind of it's own. I also asked that mages can heal. I can dream.

So, in a last ditch attempt to make it seem like we listen to our community, we're going to put out these 'Class Feedback' threads even though we already know most the issues with the various class specs but just can't be f*&$ed to fix it.

This is just more proof that Blizzard doesn't play their own game. And more proof that Ghosttroller is a retard designer that needs to be fired.

Damn. One can only take so much negativity before a lurker registers an account. The Blizzard bashing and hate is really getting old guys. Blizzard is an *amazing* company that goes to great lengths to try to make fun games for all of us. You guys are so spoiled you cannot even see this anymore. Regardless of how bored you have become World of Warcraft is a huge success and changed the landscape of (MMO) gaming forever. Even against all this hate and seemingly never being able to make the right decision, they still try. They still come back to us. They still invite us to care - to give a damn. To have fun.

By all means go play any other game, Just don't forget how much fun you had playing WoW. I don't see how becoming bored with a game after 6-7 years (!) is an excuse to shit on all the effort being done. That's just not cool. We don't need that sort of community.

Why I have the feeling that the community managers will do a selective reading of the feedback? They already have ideas of what people want, and will throw away everything that doesn't fit, and use what they want to hear as proof that the community wants what they want. Sorry, but the community management isn't a customer channel since they made the cataclysm site. It's just a marketing tool, they manipulate at will. I miss WotLK times.
