Blizzard Trademarks "The Dark Below" - WoW or D3 Expansion?
Blizzard just trademarked "The Dark Below" and it definitely looks like it has something to do with a new game or expansion!

  • Computer game software; Computer game software downloadable from a global computer network; Downloadable computer game software via a global computer network and wireless devices; Downloadable electronic games via the internet and wireless devices

It could be anything, but it could also be the next WoW expansion. With Gamescom coming up in a couple of days, we could also be looking at the name of the next Diablo 3 expansion.

In any case, it looks like it's time to jump on the speculation train until we can get our hands on more information.

So the team that hasn't released ANY new content for the last 5 months isn't ready.

But the team that is working on a huge patch is?

What info do you have that we don't?

With The Burning Legion, we expect them to be raining from the skies, or coming through portals, or both, not out of the ground like War of the Worlds.

Well the old god called N'goth I would presume is the the dark below, because he's an old god and he's under the water so to me It's actually makes sence. And if an expansiion based around N'goth would come, my guess would be that Queen Azshara would also be involved.

Uhm, I'm not able to actually find this filing with the USPTO. Anybody able to find it themselves?

Lei Shen's life changed forever when he stumbled into a dark chamber below what are now the Mogu'shan Vaults. Legend has it he found an ancient titan keeper guarding a miraculous device known as the Engine of Nalak'sha. No one knows what transpired between the two beings, but Lei Shen later emerged from the site bristling with the power to forge an empire. The keeper's fate -- and his current whereabouts -- remain a mystery.

This most likely means a Naga xpack, which means...back to my druid because aquatic form was the only thing that made Vash'jir tolerable. Amazing story, (that was unfortunately left at a cliff hanger for two xpacks now) but waaaaaaay too expansive.
Sorry, but it seems you don't have any idea about WoW lore.

Dude, the new WoW Xpac was registered in Rwanda like 8 months ago. It's not "The Dark Below"

Well It's fairly obvious to me that they will announce the next WoW expansion at games-con. Maby start beta soon after. And show lot of stuff about it at Blizzcon. And then release it in maybe December?. I could it be wrong. Just speculating.

Think with me guys ... take a look at this wowpedia.org/Dark_Below ... and then think ... in throne of tides Ozumat "eated" Neptulon and since the start of cataclysm we haven't heard a word about him .... so yeah, i would go with a WoW expansion and Nagas/Azshara ... Neptulon cant have such a small impact in the game and just get eated by ozumat in a lvl 80/81 dungeon ... What do you guys think?

Goin' on the title sounds like its about an ex-girlfriend of mine.

It can't be D3 lol , remember Ozumat the Dark below ??? . Dark Below mean Deep See so thats not Diablo ...... and look at the 2 squid we can see in Pandaria on Isle of thunder and south of dread waste. + dark below is a WoW Lore With Aszhara and N'zoth.

Plus, i might be wrong, but isn't the Twisting Nether the place where Illidan got banished to when we "killed" him? Can you see where i'm going with this?
You are wrong, yes. Illidan died on top of the Black Temple and was not banished to anywhere. That is Kil'Jaeden.

This title doesn't feel that wowlike, so it definitely is. Ockham and all that.
I have to agree with this. It just sounds like a Diablo expansion to me, but I'm usually wrong on these things, so it probably isn't. I couldn't believe "Mists of Pandaria" was the new expansion name either.
