Interested in boosting more than one character to level 90 right away? In addition to the boost you get with your Warlords of Draenor pre-purchase, you also have the option of buying additional character boosts directly through the Shop in-game.

Warlords of Draenor is available for pre-purchase digitally in standard and Digital Deluxe editions. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with a cache of in-game goodies for your favorite Blizzard games, including a Dread Raven mount and Dread Hatchling pet to accompany you in World of Warcraft, Grommash Hellscream and Blackhand Battle.net portraits to intimidate your foes with in StarCraft II, and a battle-torn Warsong Pennant to fuel your demon-slaying rage in Diablo III. What’s more, like the instant character boost, these will be available to you immediately upon your pre-purchase of the expansion.*

Warlords of Draenor will also be available as a retail-exclusive Collector’s Edition (in limited quantities), which comes with the in-game extras from the Digital Deluxe Edition along with an array of awesome artifacts from the physical realm, including a hardcover art book, behind-the-scenes Blu-ray/DVD set, Warlords of Draenor mouse pad, and CD soundtrack featuring epic music from the expansion. When you pre-purchase the expansion* or purchase a standalone character boost from within the game, a Character Boost token will appear on the character-select screen in World of Warcraft. Once you purchase it through either method, you can click the token to apply your boost at any time—no need to use it right away if you’re not ready. Keep in mind that character boosts are irreversible, so it’s a good idea to make sure you’re boosting the character you really want to.

If you boost a level-60 or higher character, you’ll also get an extra bonus: both of your Primary Professions will be bumped up to 600, so you’ll be an instant pro at your chosen callings. If you’re boosting an existing character and want to change professions, just make sure you train the professions you want before you apply the boost. Also, if you’re not quite level 60 yet (but thiiiiiiis close), you might want to consider holding on to your boost token until you earn those last couple of levels—your boost will still be waiting for you when you’re ready.

Check out the Character Boost web page, watch our video guide, or read the support article for lots more information.

Q: Can I apply my character boost to any character on any World of Warcraft account?
That depends! If you pre-purchase the expansion, the Character Boost token will only appear when you’re logged in to the WoW account you upgraded to Warlords of Draenor. If you purchase a standalone character boost, you’ll be able to use it on any eligible World of Warcraft account on your Battle.net account.
Note that if you’re upgrading to Warlords of Draenor directly from the World of Warcraft Starter Edition, it may take up to 72 hours for you to receive your character boost.

Q: When will I receive my in-game goodies if I pre-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition?
If you pre-purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll receive the World of Warcraft pet and mount right away, along with the in-game bonuses for StarCraft II and Diablo III.

Q: Can I get a character boost immediately if I decide to pre-order a physical standard or Collector’s Edition from a retailer?
Players who purchase either the physical standard edition or physical Collector’s Edition from a retail store will get their character boost when they receive their copies at the launch of the expansion.

If you’d like to receive your character boost immediately*, several options are currently available:

  • Pre-purchase the expansion digitally through the Battle.net Shop.
  • Pre-purchase the Digital Standard Edition or Digital Deluxe Edition from GameStop in the U.S. or (coming soon) EB Games in Canada (paid in full at the time of pre-purchase). You’ll receive a code redeemable on Battle.net that will unlock your level-90 boost immediately* and also unlock a copy of the expansion pack when it releases.
  • Select retailers in the U.S. are also now selling Battle.net Balance gift cards. You can use these to charge up your Battle.net Balance to pre-purchase a digital copy of the game through the Battle.net Shop and unlock your level-90 boost immediately (sales tax may apply).

*Players upgrading to Warlords of Draenor from World of Warcraft Starter Edition must wait until trial restrictions are removed before character boost becomes available (may take up to 72 hours).

Everyone has the right to complain that is our freedom.
To be honest, I rather have this then people just silently buying overpriced game. This is getting worse every month and that is not only blizzard but a lot of AAA publisher who only see the game market as a cash cow ( e.g : Dungeon Keeper, ESO and South Park).

I agree that $10 is nothing BUT nothing justify such changes. It is a pure greed move by Blizzard (just like the overpriced lvl90 boost). By staying quiet and buying this, you are giving more reason to game publisher to increase their prices.

Not to mention - why would I bother preordering something to get back into the game to play the same content till the fall? I don't understand why they keep making this mistake over and over - super fast content churn followed by 10 months of same shit every day.

Why would the boost give you a flying mount? IT CAN'T FREAKING FLY IN DRAENOR!

    Useless perk is useless.

Here's the problem... if people don't complain in masses.. then Blizzard will think.. "hey.. we're actually going to get away with this!!!" or "people must be ok with this sh*t, otherwise they would be complaining!!" Hence... the complaining....

Also.. for the people justifiably complaining... if no one also complained.. they might think.. "geez.. it must only be me who is upset".. again.. hence.. the complaining.. and don't worry.. I unsubed back in December... and have absolutely no plans of resubbing.. at this point.. possibly not ever again. I am so "done" with Blizzard's crap... "WOD will be released sooner than you might think" (ummm.. yeah.........) (Door closes) (this customer has left the building).

All you people complaining about the release date and the price need to stop, take a breath and step back a minute. First off you do not have to sub, you can unsub at any time, if you don't you are choosing to give Blizzard money. Also when has at any time Blizzard came through on a promise since 2007(When they became Activision Blizzard)? If you do not like the prices find a new game if you do not like the time table don't play the game. You are all people of choice as in you have the Choice to play or not to play.
Yes you may enjoy the game and the raids and feel like the wait is outrageous and that's fine you are entitled to that but bitching wont change it, this is there business model now this is how they will profit from a 10 year old game. Saying its wrong again yes it may be, but they are still doing it and not going to change. We all have a Choice in play and paying for this so don't forget that.

Also if you are one of the people so concerned about the price and current direction Blizzard is going make a online petition and get everyone to email Blizzard and ask for changes. A bunch of random people crying on a forum wont do anything but banding together and making it have a purpose and organized can do more than this. Even if they ignore it they cant it you get enough people together, trust me share holders get all scared when they see big organized groups like that. It why we have civil rights in america(that's a example and not a actual comparison to a online game...fuckers)

Increase in price of expansion? Ouch. "Then unsub. You don't have to buy it." Derp. That's not the point. It's about supporting your customer base.

Fall 2014 ETA sounds about right. I'm guessing August will be the release date. Love how the made their SOON (TM) go all the way to December just in case lol.

What's with the orange and brown box art? Is this Cataclysm 2.0? Can we get a new freaking box art please?

Blizzard is getting way too greedy lately imo.
Square Enix is doing a wise move of reducing the price of their MMO FFXIV from 40 to 20$. And another respectable gesture they did to show they are not greedy, all those who bought the original version, got the new one for free and and additional 30 days free trial. And those whos bought XIV on their PS3, will get the PS4 for free too.

Sad to also hear Lore's voice being so happy about the 60usd character boost feature

It's his job now. He'll always have his opinion, like all of us do, but now he gets paid by that company, he can't really be saying "this feature i really don't like, but here it is" as a spokeperson for said company.

What? "Get away" with legitimate business, where the decision to spend lies entirely with the consumer? There's nothing to get away with. The money men have clearly reasoned that this is a price that a lot of people will pay, and so they are offering it at that price. If you don't agree, then voting with your wallet is a heck of a lot more effective than throwing your toys out of the pram on a third party fan forum.

I had no hesitation in pre-ordering. Given the price of the 90 boost in the store, the pre-order is a good deal in my eyes.

But just think of the 60 dollar valued character boost! (as they are advertising) that you get for "free" that's totally worth an extra 10 dollars.

Now you can pay more for truly the most sidequesty of expansions that actually provides less in terms of features and story relevance than previous iterations AND you can give them money almost a year early! Such Value! You can buy it before it's even been beta tested, whats not to love! No new classes, races, a feature they have been working on for ages which is really just an art improvement that was bound to occur anyways (but is being highlighted as an expansion feature despite being applied to the game regardless of purchase), no new trade skills, but you can like build a town in Alternate Universe Past Draenor that doesn't matter and will never be relevant again (despite them having talked about Guild Halls back in Vanilla and having put such a feature on the chopping block.) Yeah... loads of value for the content. But you know... atleast they value the ability to skip monotonous game play with alts and value it at the same cost as an entire expansion. Not to mention, you know, removing of the flying feature until a later date to add it back in, but heres a flying mount for your preorder to not fly in the expansion it's relevant to.

Just Keep those monthly payments coming.

See part of the problem is we have proven we will pay for whatever they throw our away. They don't even need to provide content or a product and people will give them money. They provide less content patches and let the game ride out for a year with nothing to do, and succeed at it. They can set any price they want because they know we are invested and will pay for it. Yeah it's shitty and not cool, but in the end they don't care about their reputation, just sweet sweet dollar signs.

The release date really shouldn't surprise people. It's your own fault for ignoring years worth of data and getting your hopes up. Your optimism regarding these things is adorable.

Also on the subject of the Box art... what the hell is wrong with Grom, where's his tattoos...

I could care less about the price. My concern is whether or not key guild will survive till fall. We've already got people dropping like flies out of boredom. Most of us are already to the point where we're just fishing to replace a couple heroic pieces with heroic warforged. Going to an alt isn't much more entertaining bc our alts aren't much father behind that. /sigh. At least we have a few 25 man teams. Maybe there will be enough left to make a 20 man. We'll see, right now we're losîng at least 1-2 ppl a week that are just going on a WoW break out of boredom. I'm considering joining them.
