Gearing Up to Celebrate 10 Years of World of Warcraft
It looks like the 100v100 battleground won't be sticking around after the event:

Tarren Mill vs. Southshore: The Rematch
If you engaged in PvP early on in WoW, you might have fond memories of—and perhaps a few scars from—the endless tug-of-war between Horde and Alliance players at Tarren Mill and Southshore. To recapture that feeling, we’ll be opening a Team Deathmatch–style Battleground based on that timeless struggle. However, unlike the old days of Tarren Mill vs. Southshore, there will be a clearly defined victor, so you’ll need to work as a team or face crushing defeat.

Molten Core Gets Boosted
Molten Core provided many WoW players with their first taste of WoW raiding. For the anniversary celebration, max-level players will be able to participate in a special 40-player Raid Finder version to relive the experience of hunting down Ragnaros and his minions within his fiery lair. Downing the Firelord will earn you an Achievement and a special Core Hound mount reward (fireproof leg armor not included).

Corgi-licious
Anyone who logs in during the 10-year anniversary event will also be able to claim a feisty, fiery new pet: the Molten Corgi! Just think of the corgi-parade potential when you and your friends summon these wee waddling balls of fire for a walk.

These events and rewards will only be available for a limited time, so make sure to check back with us later for more information on when you can expect to see them in-game. ‘Til then, we’re looking forward to celebrating 10 epic years with you!

YES! I've been wanting one for ages!
    Please make it permanent!

A pretty safe conclusion from this is that the expansion WON'T be launching in November. If it did, people wouldn't be given enough time to reach max level and take part in the MC raid during the event. And it certainly won't launch DURING the event, so November 18th till December 2nd are pretty much 100% ruled out for launch dates.
I'm pretty confident it's October for the last 2 months really , on the 14 I got my thumbs up for it !

Yeah this is interesting. Maybe patch 6.0 will be around that time and this is a way to test new skills and systems while giving us content to tide for the expansion. The crappy part is that this means the expansion will be coming late as hell... possibly December. Giving this limited time content only a few weeks of lifespan.

On the other hand maybe the expansion will be early October and this will come at a perfect time for end-game content and will give us TONS of stuff to do when dinging 100. Making everyone happy.

    I pray for the latter.

It's a limited time event. That's why it's LFR. You can only get to it via LFR. I would think that if you were to fly to molten core it would be the one that exists today.

    More importantly:

Will the rep/xp buff be boosted to 10%? If they forget to update the boost AND the letter that comes with it (again!), I will be very unhappy.

I would be pretty sure they won't release the expansion in November with this event going on. They'll leave at least a month before-hand if the expansion comes out before the anniversary (so mid October launch) or they'll wait until after it's finished (December launch).

No way they would put it out in November and force people to rush level or miss out.

Well, glad they included LFR for the mount. Doesn't seem like everyone will get it though, I'm sure it will still have an ilvl requirement. I hope its not that high, my highest is only 508. Never been to SoO, don't want to either. That would suck if it requires that you have items from that raid though.

I'll ride that core hound mount like there's no tommorow

It is on your CPU, very much so in fact. As long as you have a good CPU though, your graphic card could be a piece of toast and you'd still be fine.

I hate people like that who whine that not every cool mount is a rare or elite drop.

Wow, they are going all out for this one. All of this looks awesome.

The Molten Core 40 player LFR version sounds like a cool thing to try out, looking forward to it.

Sneaky Blizzard. This is making me want to get WoD to enjoy this.

It'll probably be in WoD, so you won't need to be too well-geared I'd think. Not many
    people will be.

I just thought: if it's anything like Onyxia (5 year anniversary raid), it'll have gear, too. Possibly some tier sets reworked? Old MC weapons reworked? Would be amazing.

I agree. There's always someone who has to cry and complain about something.

And I recall MC taking hours to clear, man I want that mount, but I don't want to endure that all over again. Blizzard is mean.

Yeah. But just those people who think that because a mount doesn't look generic or bad, that it should immediately be a rare drop, heroic raid drop, etc.
