Beginning Monday, July 2nd, we will no longer allow any advertisements in the Group Finder for in-game services such as carries or boosts, including those being offered in exchange for in-game gold. The Group Finder is intended for -- as the name suggests -- finding groups, and these advertisements make it difficult to find active groups that are currently being formed. Additionally, these are often used as a cover for real-money sales, particularly given that in-game gold cannot be transferred cross-realm.
Note that this does not change our policy on selling things such as raid carries for in-game gold. Those are still allowed, but should be advertised through realm-specific methods such as trade chat.
We’ll be adding an “advertisement” option to the Group Finder’s right-click reporting function with Patch 8.0, but in the meantime, they can be reported using the “spam” option. Thank you for your understanding, and for helping us keep the Group Finder clear of unwanted advertisements.

Ivan Kuzkin is back again, this time looking at what a Lightforged Illidan would have looked like.
Cross realm gold boosts are still within the rules, actually. Only real money sales are not. Given that cross realm gold boosts aren't breaking any rules there is no reason they shouldn't be advertised in the group finder. This is just going to create more spam in different places instead of the group finder.
Gold boost is within the rules. Spam is not. You're allowed to use /2 to sell your boost services (or other in-game items or services). You're not allowed to use /w, /4, /raid, LFG and other means of in-game communicating to sell your boost services (or other in-game items or services). Simple as that. Those, who read /2 channel, are interesting in buying something. Most of those, who use LFG tool, are not interested in buying boosts.
Spam on trade better than scroll a few advertisments in lfg??.Srsly very bad decision.Better to spam trade on 5 account on different realm .You have addon which you can explude words you dont want serach.
Pointless change that ruined group finder creation functionality for world quests. I've been using an addon that filters all advertisements out anyway.
This is a bad change. Now they'll be spamming trade/zone chat offering services. This moves it from the relatively private LFG channel to the public. Two thumbs down, now it'll be like that one guy that posts his guild spam every 10 seconds.
I didn't say anything about streamers. I don't care about streamers. Yes, selling runs for gold was already not allowed and those should be removed from the group finder. Usually that's what the boost groups with a url at the end are. Sales for gold. Those, being against the rules, should definitely be removed from the group finder. Gold sales being removed from the group finder is pretty silly though. Given that gold sales aren't against the rules they could at least put a separate section for them in the group finder. All they're going to accomplish here is even more trade chat spam.

If Blizzard was at all motivated they could just add a gold sales section to the group finder or better yet they could just leave it alone but be more diligent about their removing of real currency boost ads. It all comes down to laziness.
No, selling pve runs for gold has always been allowed. Selling rated pvp isnt. Unless youre just talking about the advertising then ignore this post.
Only people that are mad are the boosters themselves. This is a GREAT change!
I'd imagine those with more gold than skill are a bit ticked as well since now they need to worry about people dropping groups mid run because the guy/gal with the key cant hold his/her own or he/she cant join someone elses key group because his/her raider I.O. score is too low.

Yeah no. Having to scroll past a handful of advertisements on the lfg tool is such a minor inconvenience. Completely pointless change.

Have YOU? Selling services like boosts is still not against the rules. It says it right in the blue post. Lmao.
Edit: Here, right from the blue post:

You could easily disable trade channel. But you can't filter out all those boost crap on group finder.
You cannot even see and read the bold part , you really need high power glasses. Read the full sentence first and .....
Still not getting ??
Hint :- Read blue post again, top to bottom
And you're being completely dense if you don't realize that this is NOT dis-allowing a person from making toons on multiple servers and advertising in those different trade channels. Which is what alot of us will probably be forced to fall back on for reliance and dealing with all the pissants who report you there as well.
