  • Sylvanas has received several updated effects and animations to match her gameplay updates.

Design

Armor
  • Now, just like Movement Speed modifiers, the game will apply only the highest (or lowest) amount of Armor to a Hero at any given time. We've adjusted ability/talent Armor values on a per Hero basis to account for this change:
    • Anub’arak
      • Nerubian Armor (W)
        • New functionality:
          • Increase the Spell Armor granted from Harden Carapace by 20 (to 60)
    • The Butcher
      • Enraged (Passive)
        • Armor increased from 15 to 25
    • Chen
      • Purifying Brew (Trait)
        • Spell Armor increased from 30 to 40

      • Untapped Potential (R)

    • Gazlowe
      • Robo-Goblin (R)
        • Armor increased from 30 to 40
    • Lt. Morales
      • Safeguard (W)

Catapults
  • When a team destroys a Fort, they’ll now gain a Catapult in every 3rd Minion wave.
    • NOTE: In order to keep early-game Catapults from being too devastating to defending teams, Catapult attack splash size, attack range, and damage/health will gradually increase as the game progresses.

Experience Changes
  • Removed all Experience earned from destroying a Fort or Keep
  • Decreased Experience earned from destroying Towers by 50%
  • Passive Experience gain increased by 15%
  • Increased Experience gained by defeating defending Mercenaries by 100%
  • Laning Mercenary Experience
    • Defeating Laning Mercenaries will now grant 100% of Defending Mercenaries Experience.

Developer Comment: After listening to feedback, we have decided to pull back the laning Mercenary change outlined in our 2019 gameplay updates in order to give winning teams more opportunities to pull ahead.

    My view on the changes
-->Sylvanas is dead on arrival. Sorry but this rework makes her far weaker than previously(and in a world of towers 50% exp, forts 0 there were few advantages to begin with). I can't imagine any game where Valla isn't strictly better and she's not exactly hot stuff either.
-->Stiches is insanely strong post rework. There's a lot of potential/synergy and a good hook end game will mean the win.
-->Merc value has increased a lot. With 100% more exp, taking merc camps on cd is insanely good, specially early game. Specially "elite camps".
-->The experience changes for forts/towers seem bad, but we'll have to play through to see how it goes. I see a lot of value in lane freezing now.

The armor changes means that if your support hero is based on providing armor, its far weaker then before(Morales/Uther). While if your hero is based on removing armor, its far stronger than before(Tyrande/Deckard)

Wow stitches new slam and the talent pulverize interact?

On the other hand, stitches can be build to slow a lot, self heal, area damage and debuff other heroes. I like the changes but he will be nerfed.

Sylvanas got a double nerf: the new changes and modifictations on XP. However, even when its true that only time will say it, i think Sylvanas will get another rework.

I'm not sure what role Sylvanas serves now on any team.
They've made you work harder to achieve less.

This whole game is headed towards D Tier. No, not that D. I mean dead. The game is going to be dead. Terrible skins. Trying to make its own lore. Gamebreaking reworks. It's like no one whose ever worked on a game before is on the HotS Dev Team. What happened to skins like Alternate Universe Illidan, Tyrande and Malfurion? Those were amazing. Unique heroes like Cho'Gall or Abathur? Almost 2 years ago! Let's just keep getting more and more generic LoL knock-off assassins... *sigh*

a great example of why developers know what they are doing and armchair devs who dont even bring up WHY changes were made have no purpose commenting.

The point WAS to nerf her ability to take towers and lock down tons of minions and mercs, however they didnt what to nerf her, so they increased her attack ability. she has almost no bonus to combat in her arsenal except things like increased withering fire range. almost all her ability is in locking down towers and minion waves and running if a fair fight comes.

with the changes she CAN achieve almost the same level of lockdown if she plays smart, meanwhile she now has more combat ability.

her 'purpose" is to be a unique character. There are literally what? 70 characters now? Dumb arguments like "no reason to pick her over valla". People dont pick valla to win games they do it to counter certain characters or have fun. there are many times when i need to get a quest done and i go for the character i want to play rather than who i think i can win fastest with.

learn to give criticism better, because this type of take is real bad and completely misses the point of the rework.

her purpose is to be a unique characther alright , that's why they removed everything that made her unique and turn her into a worse version of valla .

they wanted to increase her attack ability alright , that's why they nerfed her auto attacks , Q and W damage .

let's face it , they destroyed her , absolutly no reason to pick her over any other ranged characther .

I haven't seen her numbers yet, but...Mind Control is really, really underwhelming isn't it? It's like a weaker Stitches hook, with like, what, 4x the CD? Or like a ranged Taunt, that can(and probably often will) be blocked by the enemy frontline? And the projectile speed is pretty low too, so good luck catching anyone mobile with it...

The point of the Sylvanas rework is tied to the experience change and the general role rework of multiple heroes. You are missing the point of the hero being competitive.

I actually come from a QA background in a SW development company, and trust me when I say this : developers make very poor development decisions because they develop for the best case scenario too often or are stuck in their own mindset. Anyway, criticism on forums like MMO-champion is honestly irrelevant, its not like anyone involved in development at Blizzard for HOTS reads this forum and my arguments they were mostly my opinions rather than an Issue Report.

Been hoping each year to get that skin, Chromie in general doesn't have any skins that I really like. I didn't like the Genie one, and her Halloween skin is lazy, just a face mask. That's literally all she got since she came out. She could get an Infinite Dragonflight skin, a Winter veil skin, and much more but...nothing.

Heroes like Li Ming keeps getting skins, while I'm just hoping for a high quality Chromie skin :/

At least her Master Skins are good. Giant hair buns ftw!

I don't even remember, when last time they released crossover skin. Hellwarden Maiev dosen't count because is only for gems.

The skins they’re releasing have never been better, and Cho’Gall is the worst thing to ever happen to this game. If you’re going to complain, at least make it about something actually relevant.

You know, between this and Pokemon Let's go, I'm starting to feel old AF. That Stitches rework looks sick, though.

That's pretty great. Now I can spend 16 minutes reading crap on the internet before I have to pay attention to my game of HotS, since nothing I do before that matters anyway. Truly the pinnacle of fun and interesting game design.

Not to be too negative but what in the fuck... Just give me back tower ammo already.
