when i first saw the image,i thought she was Lara Croft. this really hyped me,as my main is a female human.

Exactly. Nobody should claim to speak for "the community" and Blizzard won't please everyone in this process. As they said, they are trying to keep the "soul" of the old models while providing some depth. There are subscribers who have been playing toons for ~8 years or more and would be upset if they logged into WoD and their character looked NOTHING like the original. Originally Posted by Ondray

I'm probably alone on this but something seems a bit off to me about the face. Can't quite place it but I think it has something to do with the eyes. Either shape, size, or placement. If it is anything though it is very minute, overall I think it looks really good. Just something about that face haunts me....

Overall, I think they did a great job. My only pet peeve is with the coloration around the upper eyelids and nose (too much red tint).
To me, it looks like she's caught a cold.

I wasn't terribly happy with the face until I looked at the side-by-side old/new bit and it's... kinda awesome. It's just not a face I use for any of mine, at the moment.
Soothing Mist:"Healing them for a minor amount every 0.5 sec, until you take any other action."

[What's half of minor?]

First thought that crossed my mind was, "TAKE MY MONEY!"
I can't wait to see the animations on this model. Having animations of Pandaren quality on the old races will likely help with the feeling that WoW is an old game.

yah its just a basic look without any expression. its a starting point for animators to make expressions. things we will get to pick from in the finished product. their blog explains this point. Originally Posted by TheWindWalker

I'm going to shy away from the "people don't read" type of comments and instead assume that the pictures were up before the post.
But to everyone who said "she looks too bland", that means they hit it perfectly, as chris said in his post (paraphrasing) "any hint of emotion would carry over into the animator's job, and made for very confusing looking emotions". Apparently it's the animator's job to make her look happy or angry or whatever.
