As a Brit who moved to the states about ten years ago here is my thoughts on that list
1. Dear god yeah i couldn't believe that a large fries in England is just a medium in America.
2. Yup literally everywhere you go you will see at least one american flag.
3. To this day i still hate the fact i hate to work out what the tax will be so i always make sure i have more money than what i will spend.
4. Yeah i hate the fact my barman wants a tip for each round of drinks i order even though back in England i never gave a barman a tip in my life.
5. Literally every commercial is a ad for a damn pill ive never seen anything like it.
6. I used to live in Birmingham and iam sure that city was designed with the car in mind so iam used to that.
7. When i first came here i couldn't fathom how many commercials there was but i must say i have gotten used to it as for quality they are no better or worse than English ones.
8. I tried that shit it tastes like cheese flavoured WD-40!
9. No comment
10. Never had a problem with the toilets they seem exactly like the ones back home.
11. I like pickles so no problem here
12. Does seem weird how college sports is insanely popular here when back home there is literally no such thing.
13. I got a warning from a cop for jaywalking when i first came here and boy was it a wake up call.
14. Bread does seem a little sweet but i think its so the self life lasts longer.
15. The amount of free soda you can get is insane and i must say i love it.
16. Americans do love to talk loud but they are very friendly i must agree with that.
17. Never noticed.
18. Once again never noticed
19. Iam too old for school but when i was young we used to have to sing hymns and have prayers each morning so i guess its not that weird.
20. Yes dear god before i moved to the states i never saw a ad for lawyers but now its like they are everywhere.
Honestly I don't get the pill commercials either. We take what the doctor gives us, as well. At least I do. Also tipping is an outdated concept that needs abolished, imo.
I would hate it if price tags included tax. Tax usually does not result in nice round numbers and I have ocd about rounding errors.
For sure, but voluntary tipping is also weird. It's like suggesting people are only as nice as they can be because they hope to get paid for it. And if you don't get tipped, you feel crappy, resp. if you don't tip someone they think you're an ass. There just shouldn't be a need for all that. Someone's got a job, they get paid for it, they do it as well as they can. The end.
Also tomatoes are fantastic in fruit salad.
I wasn't really trying to start a big discussion on it in funny pictures god knows we have done this enough in gen OT, just pointing out that mandatory is what people find weird about the US. Tipping happens everywhere.
Also, you like strange things.
And this new notification thing is totally tits.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.
Lol @ Quebec searching for Quebec porn.
When your parents ask you if you're ever going to find a job
This has to be the greatest thing I have ever found
