    Laptop not performing as well as it should

    any ideas? it was running a lot better a month ago but i have been noticing performance issues as of late. especially when i play games.

    i've disabled all programs on auto startup and dont seem to have anything major running in the background...any tips?

    Defrag the HDD

    Check for dust buildup inside and change thermal paste.

    Make sure there's enough free space for the pagefile to function.

    I'm not trying to sound rude but the laptop you linked wasn't very fast in the first place. Its a dual core AMD chip with 4gb of ram and a 5400 rpm hard drive. If its slower than you remember it might be the hard drive. If its close to full, try deleting some stuff and defragging it. It could also be temperature related too so it would be a good idea to blow out the exhaust.

    No, just close everything and don't run anything until it's finished.


    Right click the drive > Properties > Tools > Optimize
