That's a progressive tax system. Not a flat tax.

Seriously, these are basic terms with simple definitions.

A flat tax means everyone pays the same percentage, regardless of income. It has nothing to do with tax exemptions or the like.

Career politicians? Why is that a problem, you want consistently inexperienced people running the country?
"Wasteful spending" is a non-factor, since nobody wants "wasteful spending", but you need to actually identify waste before anything can be done. And most examples of such, well, aren't.
Streamlining processes is an ongoing bit of work that governments already engage in.
"Roll back on agencies" is meaningless; see point above about "wasteful spending".

I'll agree with you on the "use it or lose it" budgeting thing, though.
We can choose between consistently inexperienced and consistently corrupt. Great

taxes are ok, if they are spent on the things we allegedly pay them for of course, and not stolen by politicians...

I wasn't advocating for communism at all. I just meant to point out that a completely free market system with no government interference will create a society just as shitty as one run by communism.

I don't mind taxes but there is 2 things that really ruffle my feathers:

    1. Why do I have no oversight on where my taxes actually go? Does it go to services I actually need or to my friend Ed thats a lazy bum that hasn't worked a single day in his life? Cause I'd like my taxes to be used for things I actually use and not give Ed another flat screen TV.

    2. Why do I get taxed harder and harder the more I make? it "feels" like I am being punished for being successful and it really "feels" disgusting to be honest. Just give me a flat 40% tax rate no matter what money you are on and be done with it. Going up to 50% just because I actually have a work ethic and a small amount of brain function really doesn't sit well with me at all.

It's too high for the lower and middle classes, and too low for the upper classes.

The only thing that's been made clear is that the education system for so many individuals here has failed to teach them about society.

The amount of people who have no clue what a flat tax actually is, is stunning.

Taxes are good until the point when you rape the living shit out of the poor while your rich buddies can tax-evade legally (since you also created all the available laws to do so) and then you tax the poor even more because your rich friends did not contribute to society as much as they should.

Well, one thing.. if you don't pay taxes you shouldn't be allowed to vote. Someone has to pay for politicians and the buildings of government that would be required to function. Although, I don't feel like they would necessarily have to be fancy, just functional.

Also, no police to help you, no firemen to put out fires for you, you cannot use roads (or must pay every time you do), you cannot get any water from any source other than on your land/property (or must pay for it if you do), you cannot utilize any public education system for your children, if military action is taken that would benefit you in any way you are sent a bill for your share, etc etc.

Taxes are obviously mandatory for a functioning society. When they actually work properly, which it doesn't nowadays.
