A "MINI-ICE AGE" COULD HIT EARTH BY 2030, SCIENTISTS WARN

Amid rising concerns over the effects of global warming, a group of scientists has claimed that the Earth could in a little over a decade be hit by a "mini ice age" that would freeze major rivers. The startling prediction is based on a mathematical model of the Sun's magnetic energy which also suggests that Earth's temperature will start dropping in 2021.

The plummeting temperature will then lead to something called the "Maunder minimum", which is referred to a previous mini ice age that occurred between 1646 and 1715, turning London's Thames into a frozen river, scientists claimed. The latest research, led by maths professor Valentina Zharkova at Northumbria University, is built on a previous research that predicts the movements of two magnetic waves produced by the Sun. It also foretells rapidly decreasing magnetic waves for three solar cycles that will begin in 2021, and last for as many as 33 years.

According to the model, the two magnetic waves will become increasingly offset during Cycle 25, which peaks in 2022. During Cycle 26 between 2030 and 2040, the waves will become out of sync, causing reduction in solar activity by as much as 60 percent.

It's almost universally referred to as 'Climate change' now, suggest you hop on board with the new terminology lest you be left behind.

Global warming was changed to climate change so that it was more directly obvious when people chose to be willfully ignorant of facts. Global warming causes climate change and extreme weather. These claims have never changed. The only disagreement is exactly how and when; not that it's happening.

Temperatures go up and down through he centuries, not much can be done about that but adapt.

This is a separate issue from global warming due to human actions.

It does worry me slightly that with the sun entering a cooling phase, and mankind now actively trying to reduce global temperatures that we may end up making things worse for ourselves

Are people really that stupid to think that global warning is only about earth becoming warmer ?

Just a slight correction, the "Maunder minimum" is name for the period of low sunspot activity not the name of the "Little Ice age"

It will matter what we do until 2040, when our star resumes normal activity.

Humans are still releasing carbon into the atmosphere. We didn't suddenly just change our tune and completely discredit anthropogenic climate change, this is just happening outside our influence.

So should we pollute more to heat up the planet and counteract the ice age?

Yes, they do. But it's willfully ignorant to think or believe that dumping billions of tons of pollutants in to the atmosphere won't have an effect.

"Normal fluctuations" also don't include the coldest or warmest temperatures on record in the history of recording temperatures, the biggest and most severe hurricane season our country has ever had, or temperatures that would have been unbelievable 100 years ago.

    It's a thing. It's happening.

Maybe you do, but crops can't grow in freezing climates. That means less food all round and more people dying

You do realise that it hasn't been called global warming for decades.

Climate Change means just that, a major shift in the climate. Yes - that includes a systemic change which could lead to anything.

Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

Climate is constantly changing since the beginning of Earth. Wasting resources to stop this natural change is stupid.

But it hasn't changed since the beginning of human civilisation.

Climate change isn't a threat to the earth, climate change is a threat to us.
