Would you bot if you knew for a fact you'd never be caught?

I would, without the slightest bit of hesitation.

Keep in mind, I'm NOT asking if you'd not if botting were ALLOWED, because in that case it'd essentially be required. I'm asking if you'd bot in a hypothetical world where you knew for certain you'd get away with it.

    Why would I?

That's like going to watch Star Wars, and having your cat watch it while you go to sleep.

If you don't want to go and see the movie, don't go and see the movie - it is pretty simple.

Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.

    What for though?

Gold hasn't been relevant in years (swimming in it), so all that's left is for honor gain or something?

If there was a 100% chance i'd never get caught, yes, i'd have almost certainly botted fishing, or maybe herbing in TBC, WoTLK and Cata. That'd only be for gold reasons though.

    Probably not now though.

Simple. Automate the parts of the game you hate like gold farming and WQs, play the parts you actually enjoy like raiding and pvp

No I wouldn't. I sign up and pay to play the game not to have the game played for me. That's just fucking stupid.

Just don't do the bits of the game you don't like ... it isn't that hard.

I'm not going to post here to say that I don't understand why anyone would bot. That's stupid. I obviously understand the mentality of it. I just wouldn't do it. I play the game because I want to play the game. I don't waste much time farming or doing the "boring stuff" and I'm fine not being video game wealthy. I have enough gold to do anything I want in the game. If I really wanted that lightforged mount, I'd eventually get it. I'm not the type of person that has to have everything RIGHT NOW. If its for sale in the game, I know that I could get it if I really wanted it in time. So no, I wouldn't bot.

Probably not, because what I enjoy most of out the game doesn't really require any botting. I don't have a lot of money [Maybe 350k gold on my entire account?], but don't really need a lot.

If I need to bot to play a game, it means that I don't want to play that game, and my time is better spent on good games.

Good news is, WoW is not this kind of game - no one needs to bot.

If it was 100%? Yeah probably. There's always a few things that are tedious that whilst I don't mind doing them myself would be easier to just automate whilst I did housework or watched a movie instead.

For my main account no. For some secondary account you could use to have your computer make you cash while you were off doing other things sure. Of course the problem is if I could do it so could others and none of this would be worth anything. If some magical way I was the only one that could do it though it seems like a no brainer. Much like if somebody told me my toaster could make 50 bucks a day with zero effort on my part while I wasn't even home.

No. I'm playing the goddamn game, which means *playing* it.

in 99% of MMOs: gear > skill & gear = time.

If you dont have time to invest in an MMO you'll have much less fun in it.
Cause u'll be stomped on by better geared players, in PvP.
Or you will simply not experience all the content, in PvE.

    I've never cheated.

But i always bot. Especially in Asian mmos.
In order to catch up with my friends who have much more free time.

In WoW, i got banned on day 1 of the WoW-Tokens introduction. (coincidence)
Until then, i botted 24/7 for years, without a problem.

Now i dont bot, i'm stuck to only one character, and i cant play with my friends. But that's life i guess.

Sure why not, gold right now is battlenet balance so would pretty much just mean free blizzard games and hearthstone packs.

Didn't know you're all playing 24/7 without sleep and such. Botting while sleeping/working to get things done while you can't play the game would probably be done by most people if they knew they could get away with it.

For absurd grinds that take months, yes, I have "botted" before and will again. For actual gameplay, no.
