It's also the likely date as 7.3.5 includes changes to the scarab event, would make no sense to specifically change THAT event and then release it after (scarab event is that weekend after the 16/17)

Indeed, thats what me and some friends where discussing when we talked about the patch also. Minor updates to several things happening soon after that date wich is on ptr.

Pretty much, the 16th/17th of January is tipped for release.. Reasoning behind that is the Call of The Scarab event is happening from the 21st to 24th of January and so talk is that the new patch will drop the week before the event..
