Specialist confirms: drinking tap water gives you man boobs

NEVER DRINK WATER FROM THE TAP

Dr Marion Gluck has been helping women resolve hormone issues for more than 25 years. She says:

we are surrounded by hormones and hormone-mimicking compounds in our environment — they’re in plastic containers and bottles, in perfumes, pesticides and intensively-farmed meats.

The problem is they either create an excess of the hormone, or they block the receptors, meaning the body behaves as though it doesn’t have enough of that hormone.

One of the worst culprits is tap water. Since HRT and the contraceptive Pill have been widely prescribed, our waste water has been full of hormones.

It’s one of the reasons why male fish have started to display female characteristics, why oestrogen-related cancers, such as breast cancer, uterine cancers and ovarian cancers are on the rise — water is full of oestrogen which is not removed by the usual filtration systems.

This causes a hormonal imbalance which can lead to mood swings, but also to weight gain, something we often refer to as middle-aged spread, but which is often related to hormones in our environment.

The answer is to drink bottled water from natural sources (from glass bottles, not plastic) or to invest a reverse osmosis filtration system. Many argue that the hormones in water are negligible, but it’s the cumulative effect that you should worry about.

Doesn't tap water come from rainwater in large holding ponds that are then filtered with chemicals added but then there is the problem of whatever unwanted chemicals are coming from there to your house.

They might if they're not in glass bottles.

Cancers are "on the rise" for two reasons:

    1. We aren;t dying of other things first, the older you are the higher your cancer risk, this applies to almost all cancers except a very few, like certain forms of leukameia or testicular cancer which tend to strike at a young age and where the risk goes down as you age.

    2. Better detection. We are much better at finding cancer than we were, through awareness campaigns and better screening and diagnostic tools.

That's because in the past autism was only disagnosed in the most severe form, whereas now it is recognised there is a very wide spectrum of autistic behavior. Lot sof people who are now diagnosed as autistic are only marginally so and can be virtually fully functional in a normal fashion. In the past they'd have been written off as having "behavioral problems" and punished for it.

ADHD is a relatively new illness, and in the past they'd certainly have been written off as "bad kids" and sent off to in effect a school run like an open prison.

    This is clickbait.

First, there are very few places where reclaimed waste water is used for drinking. Nearly all of it is recycled for industrial purposes or to water public land. So no, unless you live in like, Orange County, this almost certainly isn't the cause of anything. Tap water is not the reason fish have hormone problems. The reason fish have hormone problems is because waste water is dumped directly into the ocean with minimal treatment in many coastal cities.

Second, "Dr Marion Gluck has been helping women resolve hormone issues for more than 25 years." why on earth would you go to an M.D. for information on water treatment and recycling procedures? It's not even remotely her field.

Googled the bird Marion Gluck seems like a bullshit Dr (qualified but decided to make cash off rubes) who caters to the upper class birds, the kind that say 'spiritual yoga' (mate you are just stretching alright) and £400 creams to stop aging.

In general I would be highly sceptical of any study or expert suggesting I buy specific products, even more so when it is posted in the daily mail.

    Snip

    *****Edit******

Completely retract what I said above.

She doesn't have ANY publications out there, she's just using other peoples work into hormones and writing / regurgitating that. But the way she's written out her page makes it look like it's her publications, it wasn't until I looked on google scholar I noticed.

Whats probably happened here is shes come up with this theory based on the fish and thought "Would that apply to humans", gone off and done some research and probably found the occasional sentence here and there that MIGHT support that idea while completely disregarding everything else in the article.

Studies also show, the majority of criminals drink water
    Not coincidence!

And you think there are no hormones in bottled drinks? Where do you think they'd come from, outer space?

    Especially plastic bottles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisphenol_A
