Do any of you know anyone that's actually done this?

Because to me it sounds a lot like that rumor that teens were getting high by filling balloons with methane gas harvested from feces in a jar.

Or to go back even further "blue star LSD tattoos" being given away at playgrounds to get kids hooked on drugs.

Just more BS that's not exactly real.

C'mon kids, there's this totally awesome new craze! It's called the 'Hand in a Blender' challenge! If you don't have a blender, you can use a food disposal in your sink! /s

I'd like to believe it's fake because it ain't exactly hard to fabricate such things on the internet.
But then I see Trump and feel like stuff like this can actually happen.

It's real. It's a 4chan 'ironic' meme. The idea is they wanted to see if they could actually get people to eat tide pods by memeing about it.

I like how you're equating raising money for medical research in the same category as eating poison for fun.

I doubt most people did it for the money raising, it's attention.
The money raised was just a plus to some.

Or just donate to research by donating money and not getting cold and wet.

I rather read a good book or watch a good movie , but to each their own.

The idea was to bring more attention to the disease by going viral with the challenge. And it worked. Many people donated
who actually never heard about ALS, because most people simply don't care. Doesn't matter if the challenge looked stupid, or if
people just donated for the wrong reason like attention etc...people benefitted from it and thats all that counts in the end.

Obviously it had a good effect but it would be pretty sweet if people could care without having to get all kinds of extra dishes on the side.
It happened how it happened and I am glad that it did, don't get me wrong.

Yep, thats pretty much all that needs to be said at this point. Im tired of the whole meme thing in general. Ive found some of the early rage comic characters and early memes somewhat funny, but now its just ran its course.

Why call it a challenge if it's fun and not hard to do?!

Stop trying to prevent idiots above the age of 13 eating tidepods then. That'll slim down the gene pool. You aren't losing the cure to cancer if they eat tidepods.
