Dems played this really well (for once).

If Trump released the memo it would have shown the prior memo was nonsense. By refusing to release the memo it casts doubt on the GOP memo's legitimacy...and there is nothing the GOP can do to assuage that.

Basically the dems outmaneuvered for once. Nothing the GOP could have done that wouldn't have destroyed their already weak narrative one way or the other.

Actually it does matter. The president is actively engaged in suppressing the opposition party's information and point of view on a matter that Republicans claimed was "bigger than Watergate".

Sure it did. The existence of a FISA order for one, it's target and the start and end date. That's generally stuff that shouldn't be out in the open.
