If the child grows up atheist or chooses to practice some other religion that does not require circumcision; should be able to sue their parents for genital mutilation once they become an adult if the "religious freedoms" and "unconstitutional parental denial" become arguments to uphold circumcision practice.

Any circumcision that is warranted for medical reasons need to be signed off by all 3 parties. 1. the hospital/religious organization's lawyer, 2. the pediatrician (not of the same religious background) recommending circumcision and 3. the able bodied individual to perform the circumcision, that it is for medical reasons and not aesthetics/religious reasons so to provide legal documentation, should the coincidental conflict eventually arise. In most religious cases the pediatrician would be the stopgate to stop bodily harm for non medical purposes.
