I mean, you have quite the point considered how the Horde could have used aerial units against the siege towers too, instead they were getting steamrolled by them until Sylvanas didn't decide to bring one of those down by herself.

On the other hand, even though is not a bad tactic, the implicit flaw is that the Vindicaar itself would be vulnerable to enemy counterstrikes and that thing is basically a floating rock. If the Horde would suddenly remember that they have indeed rather swift aerial units at their disposal, the only way for the Vindicaar to avoid sinking would be teleporting the fuck out of there, even more if Mages' shenanigans would be able to dampen or outright deprive the ship of its defensive shields. That, or bothering to give a competent escort of equally or at least similarly swift aerial units (like the Dwarf's gryphons or the Night Elf's hyppogriphs).

i don't think a wyvern is as fast as the legion's starfighters... the vindicaar's able to pick them out the sky with ease, though it requires a person marking them from the ground.

the vindicaar's very op. it's shielding is ridiculously strong, the horde doesn't have anything that can shoot through them currently. the vindicaar in any other setting, would be a win button, but blizzard conveniently forgets shit like this and it's honestly idiotic. i'd rather have them write some bullshit excuse for the horde disabling it than just not use it.

And? The Vindicaar is clearly not a particularly mobile ship, unless its near-instant teleportation isn't ready for use. In fact, outside of that capability these kind of ships seem painfully slow, if not barely mobile.

And while there were some horde personnel onboard, none of them had the know-how to even understand the ship or any time to do an in-depth analysis.

An in-depth analysis would be needed if you had to replicate the technology, which is clearly not something the Horde could do. But considering how weird the technology is, anyone with some understanding regarding the way Light and Arcane work could indeed have at least learned something useful regarding what it could work against it (once properly studied and researched by competent minds, obviously).

If the story would properly explore the ramifications, the Alliance would already be busy building space stations around Azeroth now. They're simply ignoring it because the Horde would be dead in short order if they didn't. And by "short order" i mean hours.

Vindicaar being a space ship does not mean it works like real life technology, in fact it clearly doesn't. Hell, not even the open space (or the Great Dark Beyond, as Warcraft calls it) probably works the same. Not to mention this is the same setting that despite all this weird technology around, people have yet to understand how to craft purely automatic rifles.

Yeah, except the fact that the Skyfire, likely the best piece of Alliance's technology at the time, was brought down by a mere group of bat riders.

Plus, lorewise the Horde should have Darkspear bat riders specifically designed to deal with towering buildings, too bad Blizzard seems to have utterly forgotten them by pretty much ever.

Yeah man, the Legion, led by the Eredar who used Draenei crystal technology for thousands of years, were completely unable to disable the shields, but now that a dozen Horde have seen the interior of the ship, it's for sure going to be destroyed.

The Skyfire is just one of a large number of gunships, and no, it wasn't brought down by "a mere group of bat riders" it was brought down by a massive swarm of bat riders attacking and getting inside while most of its crew was elsewhere, after losing literally dozens of batriders and multiple ships.

Honestly, yeah. But I am super glad they made a cameo! Like the mainstream now a days, I am always thrilled by call backs and fond memories of when I was younger, so even just mentioning trolls I'd come across in The Hinterlands or Stranglethorn Vale 13 years ago just gives me goosebumps for some reason.

Me too! I love that they are remembering to keep their world alive in that way instead of just basically tossing out the old for the new each time new stuff eclipses the old in importance.

This thread was the place to be for a long time. Between Marlamin posts and general leaks/datamining, it was fairly ripe with "news". It's also a good place to see stuff main sites like MMOC and Wowhead either missed or chose to not report.

I don't know. I'm hoping for the best but we went a couple of weeks without a significant build until this past week when they gave us two new zones and a dungeon. I'm not expecting anything for another couple of weeks. I'm sure they are still gathering data on last week's release. I hope I'm wrong though!

The Alliance has always been holding back lorewise, mainly due to the nature of their leaders.

The Horde in the meantime has always suffered the consequence of Blizzard forcing a character and its ideas onto the entirety of the Horde, leaving whoever is left to deal with the results. In this case that is Sylvanas.
