Thank god for that! Democrats dumped their racist voters and these "Texans" flocked to GOP. Problem really lies with the hicks and not the party!

P.S: I will give republicans a decade in Texas.
Recent would be the 90s. Alabama was also like that if you look at the history of the senate seat Moore was trying to get, I'm sure there are others too.

The 90's seems to have been when the last of the pre-southern strategy democrats left office.

Over time, Republicans(like their Democrat counterparts before them) have gained complete control over the government. Unfortunately for everyone, they used this power to redraw partisan districts.
I did not know that. Thanks!

Yeah no. Those two relationships are not at all equal. Nasty criticisms about voting history or policy are not even remotely the same as petty two year old insults about a rivals family. Your excuse falls flat when even the republican potentials didn’t stoop to trumps level even as much he tried to drag them down by for whatever reason promising us he didn’t have a small penis during a political debate. That’s the person your partisan blinders cause you to manufacture sinalarites where there aren’t. Simply put had any Democrat done 1/10. Of what trump did you’d be moralizing and virtue signaling from your high horse about what a trrrible person Democrats backed!

This thread reminds me why the echo chamber here never really gets why Texas will stay red. I thank you for the laughs though. Texas has more transplants then people know and once people get here, they don't want to leave...and they like the state the way it is. Texas is more a state of mind that people come to enjoy. The people in this liberal huffington post 2.0 forum think all people in Texas are racists and vote just to keep it that way, but they don't realize the color people really like down here....green. Once you get a taste of no state income tax and all the other benefits living in Texas provides, you get used to having a good quality of life.

So basically the growing liberal cities are just something you can ignore.

No income tax? What is it then property taxes or a bunch of regressive taxes?

while people may stay for the business side of it, the social side of it absolutely will change. Lt twat Patrick had businesses fighting back because he's a backwards social idiot.

and as long as repubs continue to believe their social backwardsness, it will continue to blue. Its just more of a purple than true blue since Dems here are more conservative.

A very high sales tax on everything of 8.25%, as well as high property taxes.

Thanks for being my fan and calling me a homophobic bigot. Sorry that I can't post more for you and that you don't understand any of those posts purposes or the replies people had to them and discussions. It's okay to shoot the messenger, I see you clearly have nothing to add to the thread discussion. Clearly nothing to add to the discussion.

On topic: Although major cities are more liberal and have a more liberal mindset, it really is offset by the nature of people in Texas. Example: DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) is typical of how things run in Texas. Dallas county had the Cowboys in Irving. The cowboys wanted to move to downtown Dallas which is a liberal dominated political scene. There was a huge flap over who would pay for the stadium and they voted it down. The Cowboys went to Arlington and Arlington (Tarrant county) gladly helped pay for a new stadium because of the revenue they knew it would generate. Dallas wanted the cowboys but did not want to pay for it, Fort Worth gladly paid because business is business. There are tons of corporate headquarters getting tax breaks at alliance airport, they built the motor speedway near Fort Worth, and more want to move near that area. Because of money. Money they keep because the red state let's them. Money drives politics more then anything.

I love how you pretend to be this neutral party who just happens to the mouthpiece of alt-right sociopaths. Or that you add to any discussion outside of advancing hate-filled agendas.

Or that somehow being business friendly means we won't turn purple. Even the Dems here tend to be business friendly. It's the social policies that will change and even Tarrsnt County doesn't go full on alt right because of how damaging that is to businesses

Lest we forget what the true definition of “bigot” is my friend. It seems both sides of the political spectrum seem to be “bigots”.

You should google "Texas property tax is too high." My daughter likes to complain that her house is about the same value as ours, but she paid almost six times as much in property tax.

    His policies are theocratic government.

You know who he is, surely though. He was the ass clown who famously shut down the government to take healthcare away from children while doing a stunt that involved reading bed time books to his kids on cspan.
