Walls are for idiots, any republican who isnt a closet Socialist communist fascist like you, would have voted for a minefield between Mexico and the US armed with nuclear mines, and let's be honest, Chaina should be paying cus they're fucking you good!

Furthermore, what army which would be stopped by a silly wall, would ever contemplate invading the US lol *Oh yeah, the wall, oh well back we go*
They should start building the damn wall. Let the baby have his soother.
Of course, it will take years to even get started and Trump will be long gone by then. A little bit of foot dragging by everyone involved wouldn't hurt. Even then a little bit of infrastructure spending wouldn't hurt even if its for something racist and stupid.
In the mean time the Dems if they're smart (not a guarantee) they'll hang that wasteful spending millstone around the GOP's neck.

Bad idea. The first step of building the wall is forcibly taking land away from the people who currently own it and have been living on it for generations. You don't decide to harm US citizens that way just to play political games, that's people's lives and livelihoods at stake.
So what you're saying is even trying to start will result in legal battles that will delay things for years and nothing gets done? Sounds like a plan. If it takes a decade to get a short chain link fence built just how much time will a concrete wall take?
The baby get his soother. Hopefully the Dems get something in return like no more bullshittery on DACA.
Nah, that's not how eminent domain works. When the government claims eminent domain, you really can't stop them. You can take them to court over how much they pay you for it (the government must pay fair market value for the land they take) but it's almost impossible to contest the taking itself. Really only can be done if you can argue that the reason for claiming the land is fraudulent. In this case, they'd claim the land and be fighting court battles over it for years, but that would all be after the fact. The land would still be taken, and there would be no need for the government to wait for things to go through the courts.
It’s not new for Trump:

I've heard of it. I just don't think it will be universally applied.
More importantly it took the US government 5 years to not finish the chain link fence that already exists on the border. How long do you think the big boy wall will take?
Saying "yes" would be an empty promise.

Oh, it'd take a generation to actually build the stupid wall. My point is that the beginning stages are the ones that are the most damaging to the people who live there. All the harm is front loaded on something like this, which is why even allowing it to start is a travesty.
Shipping off a half million DACA recipients is a bigger travesty. The wall will take awhile to just start and its just a structure. Its reversible.
Honestly I'm surprised the wall hasn't started already. Its a testament to Trump's incompetence that he can't even get it going yet.
Where's the money?
Because so far, all the administration has gotten out of Congress is a pitiful amount to build small segments of "wall" along various parts of the border, which is what they've already been doing for years. That's a far cry from the wall that Trump's been pitching.
