Prostitution is legal in certain portions of Nevada.

    - - - Updated - - -

And lawmakers decided that there's no effective way to actually fully stop it, much like prostitution itself.
nevada is the exception not the rule.

All this shit is so boring and a waste of tax payer money.
You guys should be mad not because of the implications of what they are attempting to do but the fact that they are wasting resources on a battle that can't be won.
    Circumventing rules is internet bushido.
Don't let this bother you everything will return to normal on another site.
    Which will get shutdown.
Then another site will come, and so on and so forth.
It's pointless and I feel like bills like this were done without consulting anyone from the I.T sector because obviously no one on congress has ever played whack a mole.

With dating sites, the sooner the better. If it isn't hard to get that they're playing, they're waffling over going through what they themselves started. Online dating, as far as the majority is concerned, is a waste of time. There is no taking people aerious when they will not meet you. Bunch of catfishing and lies. I meet in person or I friendzone. A very effective system.

It's more about freedom of expression than art, really.

To be clear, the states control the legality of prostitution. And "escorts" aren't necessarily illegal, only the explicit exchange of money for sex.

This bill simply removes that protection, re-exposing them to the liability that always existed. You're still welcome to say or host whatever speech you choose, but it's at your risk.

And no, I don't support the bill. It's a ham-fisted reaction to an infrequent problem that is likely to do quite a bit of harm for very little good.
That harm comes in the form of a restriction of a businesses freedom to operate. They are providing that speech platform, and they are threatened with punishment by the government. Yes, it is a restriction of their speech.

What? Freedom is being limited in the US? No way!
But at least you can train your dog to do nazi greetings without being jailed. Focus is on the important stuff.

Nazis and bestiality enthusiasts mostly... Not a great loss to the world even though I question the motives for the bestiality part. Sure it is a little strange but if the animal isn't hurt this becomes an issue of personal taste.

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

Another case of some people are being idiots and it ends up affecting everyone else.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..

So basically the movie industry buying legislation to nail torrent sites, and also fucking entire web industries in the process.
Edit: nm, missed the "personals " bit. Changes things hehe.

In the case of craigslist, most are idiots.

    Nice troll.

People *do* have that one right. Europeistan IS doggedly constructing an Orwellian s***hole.

Shall we then ignore the double standard of social media (a privately owned/controlled business cabal) versus standard businesses?

But can i make a website looking for amateur pornstars....cause prostitution is still legal if you film it...
Please do one thing on the forums, read the whole post first, form an opinion, and then state whether you agree or disagree.

Good, makes it harder for people to sell guns illegally, if this is not indicative of the beginnings of gun control I do not know what is.

If everyone had a pool in their back yard filled with man eating sharks, and they banned people from owning sharks, how many shark deaths would there be in peoples pools? I would imagine the occurrence would go waaaayyyyy down.
